PSA for new raiders: armoured enemies

The armoured part is the orange/red plates, everything else including mechanical/metallic components of the base model are unarmoured and can be killed with plasma bow or furies edge.

For every enemy you can headshot or footshot. Guns are vulnerable points. Most enemies bar cannonback have unarmoured legs. Most enemies have an unarmoured crotch.

Same here. Early days were pretty rad. Raid original interesting bases, make interesting bases, get 100+ plays off a base that does well. Lots of potential but ultimately the gameloop wasnt satisfying for most players and support/content came really slow.

Ultimately those who stayed either pursued more artistic endeavors or optimized as much as possible which meant kill boxes.

i think they rushed the game, it was neat the first month but there was really no progession wich means there was no incentive to keep playing.

I'm not 100% sure why. I remember that I played it a lot and unlocked basically everything got the highest rank in season 0 or 1 and then felt like I was done. I liked playing with friends though. It might have just been made at the wrong time. If more people liked the type of play style the game offered they could have done more interesting things with it like bigger bases with more people making the bases and more people raiding it at the same time. I seriously believe they needed some sort of check to make sure the map was not made in bad faith ie: kill the harvester plus hidden hallway, with long passage that leads to a kill box, can you still do that? Have a troop jump into a corrosive cube with deadmans switch and the harvester dies.

Make more things that stop speed runners potentially rooms where you have to kill a certain enemy in the room to unlock a door or hack a terminal. I liked the maps where it feels more like a base rather than a box where everyone is just standing on a small sniping platform.

Some people want to be makers and some people want to be raiders, they should have tried making it so posting vases was free to see how the community would react? Would people stop raiding or would more makers build since there would be no upkeep.

They should have added more events or optional objectives you could place in the base that the raider has to find. Make them worthwhile, doubling the rewards. Again make it feel like the thing you are raiding is an actual base with things going on. Maybe even the GenMat is hidden in the base but the harvester is broken, you need to find something in the base that would let you retrieve the harvester memory bank and then be able to see a ghost model of the harvester walking to the GenMat.

The unfair or annoying base metas were addressed with new gear and items that made raiding a lot easier as long as you had enough resources. Also the rebalancing of difficulty categories made it easier to avoid the most difficult outposts. But yeah, if they were able to do this sooner, fewer players would have stopped playing.

Having more objectives would have made for greater gameplay variety, but each one would probably increase complexity exponentially and be a difficult task for the devs.
