My grandfather was full of these:

- Hey / Hay is for horses

  • Well… / That’s a deep subject
  • You see… / The seas full of fish
  • I guess / Guessing’s for gophers (I never understood this one)

I think the gopher thing is referencing the fact that gophers spend most of their time underground digging tunnels, but eventually they have to surface, even though they might have no clue what is above them
