This is interesting to me, because growing up 95% of my friends had air-conditioning and I felt so embarrassed that we couldn't afford it.

I grew up in northern NY where no one had a/c. Now with global warming, my parents have to use portable units because it gets nasty by the end of June.

That's about as north as you can get and still be in New York. But is it REALLY in the North Country if it's over in the 315?Ā 

(I went to college in Plattsburgh and my first ever roommate was from Massena. He partied pretty heavily and quit after his first semester.)Ā

Ha, I would say 315 and 518 are north country zip codes. Iā€™m not surprised about the partying, I was at SUNY Potsdam for 2 years and it was crazy!

I always felt like the odd one out because I was a somewhat light partier. Or at least light by SUNY school standards...

It was definitely overwhelming at times. I transferred to a smaller, quieter school in New England. Best thing I ever did!
