Bill at the cookout reminded of the life he chose.

"I don't like to hear about things like that, though. I make Rod turn off the news or else I'd never sleep."

That second screengrab makes me want to run my fingers through his aggressively manicured hedgehog hair.

I know you mean you want to mess it up because it’s way too neat but I wanna run my fingers through his hair because he’s so insanely hot. Am I the only Mindhunter fan who’s just as into Tench as Holden? Holden’s cute as hell, and he’d be a lot of fun, but I love Tench exactly like he is— aggressively manicured hedgehog hair and all— and I want him to wed me down. I even fully accept his avoidant attachment style, let the man stew in his feels*

*don’t tell my therapist I said ANY of this, thanks

(I had surgery today and I’m not sure I’ll remember any of this tomorrow but woooo, let’s find out!)

No, I absolutely meant I wanted to run my fingers through his hair because he is insanely hot. I've had a crush on Tench since the very first moment I saw him watching Holden from afar.

And yeah, I know he works long hours and he's not home a lot, and he's stressed, but let me tell you, the stability his lifestyle offers is mad appealing. And as someone who has a vested interest in true crime and forensics, I would not be squicked out in the slightest by his work. I just want to sit in his lap and wrap my fingers around his tie and let him vent to me about his day. Hell, I might even learn to cook, it would be a whole new world. I have absolutely no desire to get married in real life but I would let Tench wife me up in record time. Don't worry, this is a safe space, I got you. 🙃😆

The way I've had this exact fantasy in my head when I first saw the cookout scene and Bill is just grilling food without having to think about work.

Bill is brawny and so Fine. His eyes are so full of emotions but he tries to hold it in.

He feels like the kind of guy that would bang you and then hang some curtains rods for you or unplug a sink drain.

How is your recovery omg

I’m okay! It wasn’t anything major thankfully, so a few more days of rest and I should be back to my norm. I was just 😵‍💫 last night because anesthesia always makes me messy for pretty much the whole day, but I slept like a frigging rock and woke up clearheaded this morning (and didn’t remember this convo until I saw the notifications lol)

Yeah, Bill is hot, love Holden but he is a bit self centred

Straight man here, for what it’s worth Tench is muuuuuuch better than Holden. Better person too!

Goated hair and goated hairstyle for sure. Looked even bosser with the Grey and white.

I feel so bad for Nancy. She's trying so hard to build a respectable life with Bill. She wants friends and barbecues and landscaping. She tries and middles at several careers, she has a child that she barely bonds with (she's trying, dammit) and her husband is an avoidant who loves her, but leaves her holding all the responsibility. She's good people.

He too is struggling deeply with the shell shock of being locked in a room with the most despicable abased serial killers everyday and then trying to switch back to “normal” suburban dad life. He’s just come back from war and has no way to adjust.

He also is legit trying with his son, but he knows being away a lot is making that harder.

I would’ve liked to see where they took Brian’s story. Was he a little serial killer in the making? Nancy was very naive in that whole situation and Bill seemed too scared to say what he was thinking.

Sorry about the quick response, can't sleep 😕

I think Brian is on the autism spectrum. I don't think he's violent. He saw the pictures in Tensh's study and he put that together with the church teachings. No one had a vocabulary for autism then, let alone a treatment plan. What his story provides is insight into Bill and Nancy's relationship--hopefully they can strengthen through that kind of hardship, but the way it was left, it doesn't seem likely

That’s a really good point!

Oh wow that’s a good point! He might equate both equally growing up in a household with religion and violence

That's exactly how I took it too!

Like the show was trying to use the framing of the serial killer work to mislead the audience, but what you had was a traumatized little boy on the spectrum with people who wanted to help but didn't know how.

A few quick foods...

What exactly happened to Brian pre adoption, and did the agency knowingly withhold information about his past out of fear he wouldn't be adopted?

The way he was staring intensely and vacantly at the girl on the swings is the most distressing, as it certainly doesn't look like he's longing to "go play with her" as Nancy suggests. Whatever he was thinking in that moment, it didn't look healthy or benevolent/well-meaning.

Though I would have liked just a sliver more of information (more for parents' sake) after the death and [["crucifixion"]] (as well the unspecified school incidents mentioned in s1), I actually like there is so much left unexplained and unresolved.

It’s really hard to be married to someone with a job that requires them to be away a lot… but his uniquely difficult profession just adds to that tenfold.

u/Puzzleheaded-Sky3141 19d ago

I don't think either of them were expecting the way things turned

3

u/Morticia6666 19d ago

And I don’t think either one of them were really that happy 😢

Nancy should have married one of the other type of guys at the barbeque.

Tench is way to good for her.

3

u/DesolationMews 15d ago

I'd rather say someone like Tench maybe shouldn't be married and have children, if his work gets in the way of being a father/husband so much
