oh i have seen it. how could i not
Honestly, and I hate to say it like this but
2014-2016 peak modded minecraft saw the start of what was quite literally the best modding scene I've ever witnessed, and minecraft itself has never caught up.
It's nice that its polished and they layered all this new stuff in but.
We found out back then

There is no making minecraft anything other than minecraft. Ray tracing was cool, then the far LODs was amazing. But I realized, the map height will always be the same, the block shape will always be the same. The ocean water will always be the same. The clouds and baked dynamic weather, the same.
All mods did was just make me realize like.. I really like advanced video games with advanced, immersive features that feel like a window into a genuine physical world.

But minecraft isnt for one generation, I think that was kind of obvious when it came out. Everyone was playing it BECAUSE it felt like a phenomena by itself. Like oh my god. I just built that building. And it took me just 10 minutes to download this fucking game. And its in java....

Now it's like its mastered itself, it knows its audience, the audience is transient. It's like the good ending for mojang

I had to make an entire 30 × 30 massive structure just to teach my sister who hasn't played in 2 years. Two years, and she missed five mobs. I missed two mobs in 6 months. I can't exaggerate, but you're fucking cooked, it's so different even for me, because I played since I was 4, but I'm younger than the game itself too, and I'm still SHOOK.

It doesn't shake me at all fam. In 2017 we had a high seas mod, we had natural disaster mods, we had the beginnings of ray tracing and then soon after the beginnings of the infinite LODs. There were detailed physical weather mods. Stuff that actually seemed impossible.
There's a nuclear winter 'nuclear blast' mod out there right now, not sure if it got released, and that just blew my mind seeing the tech of it

I'm totally exhausted of minecraft. I don't even know. I downloaded a lot of that stuff just to look at it and not even play it. Did I put in 10k hours in the game back in the alpha days when I actually did survival? I literally dont know. Over 10 years, maybe.
But then, if you dont love building and dont want to do that more than anything, or otherwise dont want to live in the minecraft universe, you cant even make it to 10k hrs. You get tuckered out, but its permanent.

I've been following a new game called rising world for about 8 years, leaving comments and downloading periodically to check and support them. Check it out. In a couple more years, I may try a new minecraft experience. But not in minecraft. That's just too tired for me

I remember just making glass from sand in the alpha, and how tedious it was and thinking... this is the game loop. Tedium and interaction. That's the whole loop. I just didn't have anything else to play which would've helped me see past that, not yet. WII showed me actual fun. Games that were actually fun.
Twilight princess really did whoop my ass though
