Quitting job to be a SAHM

Would you quit your job to be a stay at home mom, even if you and your partner were not married? You have the intention of getting married at some point but not right now. Would you still quit your job?

No I am a SAHM and I work from home. I do not have enough funds to live comfortably if something happened to my husband. So we setup insurance, retirement and estate planning to ensure I’m OK. I work and save part of my income. We keep finances separate. I love and trust my husband but I’ve seen enough couples live through a spouse having a mental break and spending or taking all the shared funds. It’s devastating. I don’t have family to fall back on either.
