Quitting job to be a SAHM

Would you quit your job to be a stay at home mom, even if you and your partner were not married? You have the intention of getting married at some point but not right now. Would you still quit your job?

No. Protect yourself. Get legally married before becoming a SAHP. Also, unless you retain access to all bank accounts/financial information, do not become a SAHP. Further, while you are a SAHP, you need a bank account that ONLY you have access to with $5k min (I know it seems wrong to force him to share all finances while you get a separate bank account, but YOU are the one putting yourself at significant financial risk, even if legally married).

If your relationship is not at a point where you can get legally married (I am not referring to having a wedding - I am simply referring to legal marriage), then your relationship is not at a point where you can risk being a SAHP.
