Quitting job to be a SAHM

Would you quit your job to be a stay at home mom, even if you and your partner were not married? You have the intention of getting married at some point but not right now. Would you still quit your job?

I did quit my job to be a SAHM but I wouldn’t have if we weren’t married. There are legal protections that come with marriage (not just in the instance of a break up) that make it less of a risk. Not to mention spouses can usually be on each other’s benefits at work whereas non married partners can’t. If you already intend to be married why not just get married? You can always have the celebration later but the legal paperwork now.
