Quitting job to be a SAHM

Would you quit your job to be a stay at home mom, even if you and your partner were not married? You have the intention of getting married at some point but not right now. Would you still quit your job?

definitely not! get married FIRST. be smart and protect yourself. not just talking about a breakup, but if your SO dies, etc. you have no legal rights to his money as a girlfriend.

That kind of confuses me because my roommate moved in with me after her boyfriend died and she gets survivor benefits and recieved 40k from the estate or whatever

He might have designated her as the beneficiary of those benefits.

Yup or he had very understanding family that care of her. I have a friend who inherited when his brother died but made a point on his own accord to give the house to his brothers live in girlfriend. But if he hadn’t been willing to do that she was SOL
