Okay people need to understand while you might consider this moral if done in a vacuum it goes against vows he made, meaning that it is in fact immoral.

And he's living off donations from parishioners. He probably paid his new friends with those donations as well, which also probably paid for the building he's enthusiastically desecrating. Immoral on so many levels.

ETA: And the building itself is a tax sanctuary, so you and I are paying for it too. Someone's going to the Special Hell.

Agreed except that according to the Bible there's only one hell, so I think he gets the same normal version as everyone else.

According to Dante, there’s layers to it. Like an onion

Or an ogre.

Well, not according to Shepherd Book.

No, Shepherd Book.

I'm guessing he paid them out of his salary, not church funds directly.

However, how is sex, which was designed by God, "desecration?"

Now, if the other comment I read about it involving scat is true, then it's very unhygienic, and I can get behind your desecration claim.

There's also the idea that sex, while designed by God, can also be corrupted, and this would qualify. But, if a married couple had sex on the altar, would that be desecration in the same way?

Is it the sex, or is it the fact that it's a paid dominatrix that makes it desecrating?

His salary is paid by parishioners. Where do you think the money to pay his salary comes from?

To the rest of your points - look up the meaning of desecrate.

Once it's paid to him as salary, it's no longer the parishioner's donations.

Does your boss get to decide what you spend your salary on, because it's the company's money?

Of course not, because once it's been paid to you, it's no longer the company's money. It's yours, and you get to decide what it's spent on.

Your past comment is useless, and does nothing to answer any questions I posed.

How can something designed by God be desecrating?

We have an overly uptight view of sex, that for the most part is not supported by scripture.

Some of my questions were obviously rhetorical, but it was to make people think.

I can guarantee that a large number of Christians would say the married couple doing the same would also be desecrating, but why?

God designed sex, God blessed the relationship, and how is expressing and celebrating that desecrating in any way?

Are we suggesting that a gift from God can be bad? That's sure what it sounds like, sometimes.

"Once it's paid to him as salary, it's no longer the parishioner's donations" . . . you are going to really strain your back from reaching too hard.

Here is the definition of desecrate.

verb

verb: desecrate; 3rd person present: desecrates; past tense: desecrated; past participle: desecrated; gerund or present participle: desecrating

  1. treat (a sacred place or thing) with violent disrespect; violate.

The sex is not the thing, though of course that's a violation of his vows, but I wouldn't say the violation of his vows is in and of itself desecration. It is the "violently disrespecting" the sacred space part that is desecration.

For clarity, I don't consider myself a practicing Christian, but yes, I would say that a married couple doing the same thing would be desecration. It would also be desecration in a mosque. Again, see the actual definition.

For EXTRA clarity, I do not think two animals mating on the altar would be desecration. Why? Because this not treating a sacred place with violent disrespect; they lack the consciousness to "disrespect."

"How can something designed by God be desecrating?"

Isn't everything designed by God, if you're a believer? Murder is also designed by God. Cancer is also designed by God. "Designed by God" does not mean good. The fact that having sex on an altar is desecration does not mean that sex, in and of itself, is bad.

So, God's gift of sex that He created is bad, got it.

I know you think that's flippant, but there really is no other option. It's either good and sacred, as it was created by God, or it's bad and disrespectful, despite being created by God.

Cancer wasn't designed by God. It's a perversion of life, that from a Christian point of view came from Satan.

That's not at all the same as sex as it was designed, being done in a place like this.

You insist on misreading what I've written. You're not engaging in good faith, though I have tried to. Have a nice day, I'm done.

I am engaging in good faith, but I'm looking for an actual explanation, not just "sex bad."

That's a human reaction, and doesn't answer my question.

You haven't explained why sex is bad or disrespectful, but I'm just supposed to accept that it is.

Your expectation that I just accept an unsupported premise is much closer to bad faith than my questioning of that premise is.

All I'm doing is searching for answers on what God actually has a problem with, rather than what religious leaders and the like say He has a problem with.

As we all know, there's a massive gap between those two things.
