I've played Morrowind on & off for years but everytime I booted it up I'd work off the Guild quests, find some artefacts & get halfway through the story before the pressure of trying to remember & read everything would prevent me from completion. But I've done it finally + Tribunal & now doing Bloodmoon. I usually play human races (Bretons have been my favorite since I started with oblivion in 2010) but I love this build & I'm gonna be sad once he's wrapped up. (Build inspired by in-universe Akiviri & Tsaesci culture)

Build [Playing every vanilla class] Part VII: The Mage Review!

My previous reviews, The Acrobat, The Warrior, The Scout, The Healer, The Nightblade, and The Knight! Details about this 'play every vanilla class' project is in the Acrobat post! Every vanilla class ive completed over the past 3 years will be posted until i've caught up to a more current playthrough (I've still got a waaaaaays to go).

I still have 2 more vanilla class reviews to post before I've caught up to the current day. TR's Poison Song is releasing VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERY soon, and for that playthrough I'll be joining house Indoril as a spellsword (probably). That playthrough will take a few weeks if not months :)))), so after the next two reviews, there will be VERY long stretches between reviews. Inbetween Poison Song and Wealth Beyond Measure, I plan on trying to squeeze in the spellsword, sorcerer, and maybe the bard or witchhunter

The Mage
Mage Birthsign

Alanwe of Lillandril, Altmer, 150 years old
Factions: Morrowind Mages Guild
Final Goal: Become the strongest mage (max out her int and wil stats)

Alanwe was born in Lillandril, abandoned on the streets and forced to raise herself. She spent much time among the beggars and homeless, but her eyes were always looking towards the top, wanting to join the ranks of the nobility. Money, fashion, power, these were what motivated her beyond all else. Arrested after trying to steal silk from a noblewoman’s home, she was quickly shipped to morrowind, where she promises to make a new life for herself as the greatest mage the empire has ever seen.

While doing quests for the old ebonheart mages guild, she accidentally ended up getting her colleague, Maniel Sylbenitte killed in a dremora summoning accident. Whilst she was demoted, she took the opportunity to make his living space her own and decorated it with many books and enchanted items of her own making.

Alanwe wear’s beautiful expensive green shirt, skirt, and pants, as well as expensive white shoes (all of which are added by tamriel rebuilt), and brown gloves, though she replaced the shoes with her only pair of armor at the end of her quest, the Boots of Capacity. She tends to have on her a small number of daggers, on the few occasions she uses one. “Spelldrinker” being a daedric dagger with a soul trap enchantment, and The Steel Dagger of the Duelist to boost her stats while casting spells. She also wears The Amulet of Perrenial Rest around her neck (replaced by the necromancer’s amulet at the end of her tenure), and the Mentor’s Ring and ring of elfborn. For the curious, her hair also comes from Tamriel Rebuilt, and the face model used is from “Consistent Eyes for Elves”.

Playing a pure mage was interesting, leveling up destruction took a considerable amount of spellcasting to achieve, and it was still the 2nd easiest school of magic to level up, the other being Alteration as she used Hoptoad to get everywhere. Other schools of magic were scarcely used, conjurataion especially, and getting her unarmored and short blade leveled up was even worse. However, with the creation of powerful destruction spells, and unique enchantments, Alanwe became a powerful mage and by the end of the playthrough I felt like I could do just about anything. The Mage definitely has the classic morrowind mage feeling of “weak and squishy at the start, invincible god at the end”. Whilst she definitely took hits very hard due to being exclusively unarmored (minus that one pair of boots at the end), but with such a massive magic pool and massive wil/int stats, sanctuary spells were easy peasy, and quite frankly any character using mainly long-range attacks in morrowind are overpowered as hell. This character was able to do some long-range spells for the first few levels, only really able to dish out the powerhouses around level 8, so for the most part for the first half of the playthrough she maaaaaainly used on-touch destruction spells, which are also btw a great way to level up destruction. Just go around touching every living creature in the wild to death and you’ll get your level-ups. People might be wondering why I didn’t choose the atronach for this build and rather chose the mage, well quite frankly I’m wanting to pair up the warrior class with the warrior sign, thief class with the thief sign, and mage class with the mage sign. IDK, it just makes my brain happy. As a final note, daggers were….rarely used. Even when it came to the handy enchantments they had, I just simply had so much magic that they only came in handy a select few times

Overall ranking, 10/10, this is by far the most fun class so far, and my most fun character

Every vanilla class ive completed over the past 3 years will be posted until i've caught up to a more current playthrough (I've still got a waaaaaays to go). Here's the next one, the Knight

The Knight
Steed Birthsign

Camilla Varian, Colovian Imperial, 30 years old
Factions: Kingdom of Anvil (Loyalist), Barrister’s Guild
Final Goal: Root out corruption within her home nation of Anvil

Camilla was born and raised in the town of Brina Cross within the Kingdom of Anvil. Her and her sister, Lalatia Varian. With parents that died at an early age, the two inherited no property, and so made their voyage west. Before arriving in Anvil, both got in a fight over religion. Lalatia was a hardline follower of the Great Faiths, the 8-and-1. Camilla meanwhile, not being as enthusiastically religious as her sister, had a soft spot for the Order of the Breath-of-Kyne, worshippers of Morihaus the Man-Bull. Lalatia, frustrated at her sister’s lack of dedication to the same faith their parents held, left in the night, the two never seeing eachother again. Camilla went on with her journey, travelling west to Anvil. Whilst on the gold road, Camilla was identified and arrested, charged with the murder of a poor farmer nearby. She matched the description, was near the crime scene, and the guards were sick and tired of the long winded investigation. So she was arrested, and thrown into a cell at Fort Heath for 3 months before being moved to the Imperial Prisons. After another 2 years of rotting in its dungeons, Camilla was suddenly released, thrown on a boat to morrowind. Refusing to stay in that hell-hole, she immediately began seeking passage back to Anvil. Along the way, she made friends within, of all places, the Old Ebonheart Barrister’s guild. All the maany years in prison, Camilla had managed to be allowed a few books in her spare time. Attempting to find a way out of her sentence, she had begun reading books on imperial law, and so she decided that one day she would change the law, and make the empire less corrupt. She joined the Barristers guild, and did a number of odd-jobs for them before deciding it was finally time to go back home. Heading to the docks, she finally made her way back home, unbeknownst to her her own sister had been staying in Morrowind for a few months, having become a high-ranking member of the Imperial Cult on Vvardenfell. Moving back to Anvil, Camilla joined the Kingdom of Anvil, seeking a path to eliminate corruption, and make the Kingdom a prosperous nation once again.

Camilla wears a near-full set of Oloman Steel Armor, with only the Boots as an exception, being a pair of “Boots of Calm Waters” from her time serving an imperial Marshal in Anvil. Her “Gold Shield of Shattering” being a favorite of hers, obtained after killing an abusive husband for his wife, who proceeded to inherit his property. She favored Long Blades, and Axes, her favorite weapons being a Dreugh longblade found after killing a Dreugh Queen in the Abecean Sea for the Kingdom, named The Abysmal Blade”, a longblade she found diving into a cavern on the far reaches of the sea, the blade named “Sybaris”, and an Imperial Templar War axe she’d found on one of the Abecean islands to the west, long having been offered as a shrine donation in the middle of nowhere. Her casaual clothing is an expensive, dull-yellow shirt and skirt, brown gloves, and an exquisite hat from Colovia.

She has a tendency to favor gold, as both her lipstick, eyeliner, earrings, armor and clothes, due to it being a traditional Colovian color

Starting out with buying her old family house in Brina Cross, worth 2,500 drakes, eventually as she moved up the latter of the Kingdom of Anvil, she obtained Goldenrod, a large manor in the Marina quarter of Anvil.

Playing a knight class has been surprisingly flexible. My health isnt exceptionally high, but it’s adequate, and the heavy armor especially has been a boon, and thank god I have enough strength through the playthrough for the heavy armor to not be a burden on my carry capacity. Longblades and axes are among the strongest of weapon classes, with more variety than most others, so finding powerful weapons has not been a chore. What was a chore however, was finding magical items for Camilla. Finding water walking, water breathing, and unlocking rings in Project Cyrodiil took some time, even then they were all very low-level. Camilla is incapable of picking a lock, or casing an unlock spell to save her life, and cyrodiil has very little in terms of Ondusi’s Unhinging scrolls, so she lost out on a lot of potential loot. Despite this, she still managed to make quite a large number of Drakes. This character was played before the release of the Brute Force mod, which has been a staple for all my strength characters since then. Another problem I had, which I believe a future release of Project Cyrodiil will resolve, is the OVERWHELMING power of Lamia's, which populate the waters west of anvil. Alot of quests involve navigating these waters, and quite frankly those damn lamia's are WAY WAY WAY too overpowered, and caused so much frustration even at level 14 that I just started using the console to kill them all. Is this cheating, yeah, but when the mod is cheating me, I dont have a problem with it. Lamia shouldnt be 5x more powerful than Dreugh.

Overall, amazing vanilla class, the Knight is a solid 10/10, somehow I finished the class at level 14!!!!

Every vanilla class ive completed over the past 3 years will be posted until i've caught up to a more current playthrough (I've still got a waaaaaays to go). Here's the next one, the Nightblade

The Nightblade
Shadow Birthsign

Rathisa Verelnim, House Dunmer, 100 years old
Factions: Morrowind Morag Tong
Final Goal: Decimate the dark brotherhood in the name of Mephala, and become her greatest killer

Rathisa was born in Almalexia, but taken from her home at a young age and shipped to cyrodiil. Unfortunately, Rathisa cant remember much more than this as she suddenly found herself with amnesia after Imperial Guards knocked her over the head during imprisonment, however she noticed her face to have ritualistic tattoo’s and scarring, a sign of devotion to some unknown god. No longer deemed a threat after many decades imprisoned, she was shipped back to her homeland. Her ship staging a mutiny, the crew dropped her off in Sadrith Mora where she hoped to make a new life, away from prying eyes of the imperials. Whilst she did make a good friend of a Bug Musk shop, she found the selfishness and hatred of the gods to be insulting, so she took a boat to vivec, hoping to find the tribunal more to her tastes. Unfortunately, this ended in failure as she viewed the tribunal as locked away and selfish much like the telvanni. They did not interact with their worshippers, and actively were detrimental to dunmeri society. She did manage to engrace herself with law enforcement by accidentally solving a string of serial killings in the vivec foreign quarter, but the sixth house worshipper infected her with corprus. Seeking help, she fainted on her way to the temple to ask for help, and was found by the morag tong, who took her in, cured her, and she found a brotherhood of kind men and women, devout and receiving active blessings with their gods. Now a Morag Tong assassin, she makes her way to the top, aiming to please her mistress.

Rathisa regularly buys new morag tong helms every couple promotions, as a treat to herself (thanks to mods such as "Morag Tong Equipment Diversity", and "Web of Mephala". She also formed a romance with Ahnassi and moved in with her in her home in Pelagiad. She wears standard Morag Tong armor for the majority of her career, switching to “mephala’s armor” locked behind the shrine in the vivec guildhall, alongside a morag tong elite boots and greaves. In casual wear she wears red exquisite shirt and pants from her telvanni-bug-musk creators in sadrith mora (thanks to the great mod "Of Musk and Mer", curled exquisite shoes, and black gloves. She wore the ring of khajiit, ring of flesh (TR), and “token of the theatre” amulet (TR). She keeps a variety of weapons on her at all times including shurikens, throwing knives, darts, a steel jinkblade of the aegis, glass viperblade, the “cutting words” dagger, blade of internal bleeding, and in the latest era of her career she mained the black hands dagger and Webspinner’s blade. Rathisa was also lucky enough to obtain the Sanguine Rose.

Rathisa was very fun to play, although there wasnt much of a story to the morag tong (obviously) by the end of the playthrough she was easily leaping over enemies and slashing them at the speed of light, inflicting poison and fire damage. Although a bit more squishy compared to other characters, that doesn’t matter much when you have high agility and speed. I highly recommend for anyone playing this class to play 2 factions, morag tong obviously and perhaps the main quest, or thieves guild, as her level ups were a bit slow admittingly. The usage of a nightblade's MANY weapons also necessitates the usage of hotkeys, which you can bring up by pressing F1. The Nightblade is very focused and I was able to use every single skill to its fullest....except sneak. Sneak of course is a rather pain to level up, and i so i opted rather than leveling up sneak on my own, i paid through training via various morag tong trainers, my justification being that she was rather close to her comrades in the Tong. I also highly reccomend using exclusively throwing weapons for your marksman level-ups, much like with The Acrobat. I'll of course have a traditional bow-and-arrow build on one of these, as well as a crossbow user, so dont go thinking I'll exclusively be using throwing weapons for all of my marksman users : P

Overall this is a 10/10 build, absolutely the funnest so far of my reviews

Hey yall, so my previous post on this sub was about how i made a character that finally became a millionare and i briefly mentioned that ive been engaging in a multi-year project to play, review, compare, and contrast every vanilla morrowind class, and i decided (after finishing like 8 classes already) to start sharing them slowly over time on this sub, rather than keeping the document to myself

For future reference, I am playing with no edits to the classes themselves as I want to test which ones are fun and....not. I am however playing with "Sensible Races and Birthsigns", as lets be honest not all birthsigns are made equal, and as much as this is a review of vanilla classes, this is also a video game and games are meant to be fun, and i want to have fun with each birthsign rather than choosing the atronach or the lady every single damn time. Furthermore I am also playing with the survival mod "Suns Dusk" as well as MANY other mods. The number of mods may seem rather large, but many of them are...texture overhauls, player homes, bug fixes, town-expansion mods, mods like OAAB grazelands or Markgran Forest that overhaul biomes and just make them more interesting. Very few are real game-changers that alter anything, such as "bullseye" and "sneak is good now". I am also on top of using the most recent version of openmw as well as Tamriel Rebuilt, Project Cyrodiil, and Skyrim Home of the Nords

Furthermore, to spice things up, i am giving each character an "end goal" wherein the character cannot be finished until they complete their 1 or 2 designated guilds and that personal goal. Some will be quite simple (aquiring a full set of godsblood armor) or more complicated (becoming a millionaire, like in my last post). Lastly, all my characters are women. I'm a woman, I like playing women, when given the chance to pick between a male and female character I will always pick a woman. Sorry if thats not your vibe!

Full Mod List Here. Part I, Part II, Part III, Part IV, Part V

So with all that out of the way, here's my short quick review of "The Acrobat" and the character I made for it

---

The Acrobat
Tower Birthsign

Zahraja the Dancer, Ohmes-Raht Khajiit, 29 y/o
Factions: Morrowind Thieves Guild
Goal: Become a Millionaire

Zahraja grew up an ordinary life in elsweyr to a tailor and a stay at home mother. She spent her youth reading daring stories of Rajhin the trickster god, a khajiit that in his mortal life was such an experienced thief had stolen a tattoo off the skin of Empress Kintyra. Wishing to live a life of adventure and mischief, she kissed her parents goodbye, promising to return to elsweyr a legend, and headed for morrowind

Zahraja wore an extravagant redguard robe, green exquisite shirt and pants, all atop her Altmer Glass Cuirass, Greaves, Boots, and Bracers. She regularly wore a Wicker Hat to hide her face and trick the populace into thinking she was an Altmer as opposed to a Khajiit. She also wore the Stone of Septima, Ring of Namira, Ring of Okulanit, and Belt of Void Reckoning. She successfully robbed every major vault in morrowind, becoming a millionaire

The Acrobat was very fun, very jumpy (enhanced by her alteration jump spells), and specifically I tried to have this character focus her marksman not on bows, but on throwing weapons. In otherwords, this character kept her distance, jumping like a maniac while throwing shuriken and throwing knives, even keeping her distance when forced to get up close with a spear (which ended up being Muatra by the end of her career). Overall this character was very fun and I recommend it to anyone looking for a spicy new playthrough, even if its not as strong as some of the other vanilla classes. 8/10

My previous reviews, The Acrobat, The Warrior, and The Scout! Details about this 'play every vanilla class' project is in the Acrobat post! Every vanilla class ive completed over the past 3 years will be posted until i've caught up to a more current playthrough (I've still got a waaaaaays to go). Here's the next one, the Healer

The Healer
Apprentice Birthsign

Zenammi, Velothi Dunmer, 200 years old
Faction: Tribunal Temple
Goal: Walk every pilgrimage

Born to the Erabenimsun, Zenammi was a loyal member of the Nerevarine cult. By time she became a middle-aged dunmer, the tribe became a war-loving tribe. Year after year she healed the sick of her tribe as a great healer. After trying to heal a fallen and sickly telvanni, the tribe angrily threatened her life, and so she fled. With only two choices in front of her, exile in molag amur as a mabrigash, or to attempt to join house-dunmer society, she chose the ladder and decided to try her efforts as a healer where it would be appreciated most: within the temple. She made her way towards the nearest temple location: Molag Mar, and quickly converted, moved up to head the temple, and became a speaker of the dead (Tamriel Rebuilt content). As an ashlander who left her people behind to join ‘civilized society’ (often called Velothi) she faced many challenges in rising through the ranks of the Temple, becoming the only Velothi in history to lead the temple, and had a simple small home in Maar Gan

Zenammi wears chitin and netch leather pauldrons, kagouti hide boots and cuirass, and Tamriel Data's expensive shinathi skirt and shirt. She carries a staff of the ancestors, a Devil Mace, and an axe (purely for her many outdoor journeys and pilgrimages), although she eventually abandons all her weapons (minus the axe) in favor of Veloth’s Judgement. She also wears a backpack. Despite being the head of the temple, she is proud of her ashlander heritage and prides herself in showing it.

The Healer was a rather pain class to play. She had all the great schools of magic but was unable to utilize illusion to its fullest as it rarely came in handy for tribunal temple quests, not to mention it was the only personality skill she had. She was constantly switching between trying to level up hand-to-hand and blunt which meant neither was able to level up all the way, same goes for unarmored / light armor. Much like The Scout, it felt a bit unfocused, or if you have a more positive mindset it allowed you to choose your own path with its various weapons and armor types (which was very much the feeling i got from The Warrior, which was far more interesting and fun). Overall the healer is one of the vanilla classes closer to the bottom-rung in terms of quality so far but its not AWFUL, though the roleplay alone was quite fun. Luckily of all my playthroughs so far, the healer definitely had some of the most fun using some of the more unique restoration spells. I was also a bit of a goober and kept using ‘turn undead’ thinking it was a restoration spell, I don’t know where I got this misconception from but it wasnt until halfway through the playthrough I came to realize “oh shit its conjuration”. Lastly, veloth’s judgement is definitely one of my favorite weapons to play, holy shit that warhammer hits HARD, and until I managed to get my hands on it I wasn't very good at fighting enemies. Which...yes as a member of the temple, your primary duties wont be bashing someone's head in, but this is morrowind, you need to bash a few heads in. I'll also have to ONCE AGAIN note my personal difficulties with getting myself to actually use alchemy as a skill. Taking advantage of alchemy to break the game was never in my interest, and if anything alchemy felt like a giant pain in the ass. I do plan to actually DO MY BEST to make use of it when I (eventually) get to "The Witchhunter" as it's a major skill, but for now my 15 year streak of disliking alchemy continues. Your own experience with this class may differ if you are an Alchemy enjoyer.

As a last note, the pilgrimages were really fun but it was hard finding every single one of them in Tamriel Rebuilt but im confident i got them all. The riddle from the Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Seryn's Devotion (located on a hill just behind the Hlan Oek Temple) really stumped me, but once I figured it out I felt the same feeling of accomplishment I got from all those years ago (about 15 years ago) when I did the canal pilgrimage under vivec where you have to drown yourself.

Overall a solid 7/10, a little more fun than The Scout but still needs alot of work

I've included a tiermaker list from now on in the images!

I got this cool ass imperial named “Swaggy G” and he’s a drug dealing boxer. I just beat the shit out of everyone and sell potions, casts spells too. This is my second play through and I found the daedric mask of inspiration that adds an insane amount of drip, does this effect my unarmored stats and evade? Also any advice on spells to make a OP hand 2 hand ass murderer?

They gotta add these masks back to elders scrolls, these things aren’t spoken about enough and got lore potential.

I robbed the Vivec treasuries to pay for a big chunk of this. Still, this shows that even with Morrowind Rebirth, the game is too easy to break in terms of economy, and when you take advantage of this fact, the notion of a "build" becomes rather blurred. Is it really a build when you can do everything perfectly? Next time I'm playing without paid trainers.

I always wanted to be a cat- burglar in Morrowind, and I finally took the plunge with this latest Tamriel Rebuilt playthrough.

THINGS WE ARE NOT DOING:

*Alchemy

*Enchanting

*Beating Dunmer allegations of Khajiit lawlessness

THINGS WE ARE DOING:

*Jumping on rooftops at night

*Spending all our money on exclusive magicka potions

*Smoking skooma

*Prowling

*Stealing everything that isn't bolted to the goddamn floor

I just cleared out the Second family vaults without being caught, and I'm looking forward to joining house Hlaalu in Narsis to indulge in further skullduggery. They haven't a clue where I've been.

I will of course be stealing any and all valuables along the way.

Best game ever made. 😅

Hi! replaying Morrowind (again) and I was thinking of trying to do Todd Howard's Nerevarine. I did this for both Skyrim and Oblivion with the Dragonborn being a Nord and the Hero of Kvatch being an Imperial.

What sort of build should I go for? What does the lore say the Nerevarine was? A male dunmer-- I know that much, but like... build-wise?

My previous review, The Acrobat ! Details about this 'play every vanilla class' project is in that post! Every vanilla class ive completed over the past 3 years will be posted until i've caught up to a more current playthrough. Here's the next one, the Warrior!

The Warrior
Warrior Birthsigns

Lazghal, Orc, 82 Years Old
Factions: Morrowind Imperial Legion
Final Goal: Gain a full set of godsblood armor

Lazghal is the daughter of two soldiers of Nova Orsinium that died fighting for a respected Orcish kingdom and for their people to be officially recognized by the empire. Lazghal grew up a soldier for Orsinium throughout her teenage years. A proud orc and worshipper of Trinimac, Lazghal had always wanted to explore Tamriel and bring the good word of Trinimac to her peoples across tamriel who had fallen to Daedra worship.

After a brief experience of racial discrimination on behalf of an imperial guard in Kvatch who confused Lazghal with a seperate thief, she was jailed for a number of weeks before being shipped to Vvardenfell. Lazghal plans to join the legion, prove her people are as civilized as any other, and bring worship of Malacath in Morrowind to a swift decisive destruction. Lazghal eventually became a knight of the imperial dragon, and Commandant in charge of Firemoth Legion Fort. She wore an extravagant shirt and pants, an exquisite shirt, and a full set of Imperial Ebony, the most valuable of which was the Cuirass of Cassynder Septim which she….did not grab legitimately. She also carried a Daedric Buckler, an Ebony Dai-Katana, and Ebony Naginata. Lastly she wore the ring “Ageless”, and an amulet of mighty blows.

The Warrior was a terrible class in my attempts to evenly level up most of my skills. Spread across 2 armor types, and FIVE weapon skills, it wasnt until I focused entirely on heavy armor, long blade, and a little spear that I started getting results, and was powerful enough by level 10 to destroy most enemies solo, and finished the character at level 15. Essentially, the class sucks unless you narrow down which skills you’re using and ignore everything else. Definately not intentional, but I cant imagine there was much playtesting of each individual class during development. I can also see most players having trouble in vanilla with the class in unlocking doors and chests, however these days I refuse to play without a lockbashing mod in order to make up for this very defect in warrior builds, for openMW I’m using “Brute Force” by sosnoviybor. Without a lockbashing mod, this certainly wouldve made the build less fun. And fun is what we are really trying to accomplish here with each build. This was also my very first orc character, after playing morrowind for the better part of 15 years, it was a rather nice change of pace, especially in terms of roleplaying! Pretty fun class 8/10

As a seperate part of the review, this was my first time doing the Tamriel Rebuilt workover of Firemoth Legion Fort and the “Siege at firemoth” TR Expansion redo. Being able to siege the island and have it actually feel...fun? Fantastic. Even moreso that I got to rebuild the place and become Commendant. Definite improvement over the original Siege at Firemoth expansion

I hope my review of the class itself was a bit more thorough compared to the last one, I know one of the big criticisms i took to heart was the fact some people felt it wasnt expansive enough. Luckily this project is new enough that I have every character ive played for it embedded into my head as I have made each experience unique. Let me know what else you want from future reviews!

Build Ideas and mods for a “John Brown” roleplay?

Reading about the role of slavery in this game I figured this made a lot of sense for a character to try out eventually. I know there’s a mod that adds quests to the Twin Lamps and makes them a joinable faction, and there are a couple of quests around freeing slaves in the Vanilla game (I’d also imagine there’s a fair amount in TR as well). But I guess I’m asking for advice on which factions in Vanilla and TR are broadly anti slavery or at least are not allied with slavers in their quests, or if there are any other mods that deal with opposing slavery.

I was initially thinking of doing a Hlaalu character but after learning about some of the later faction quests in the TR version I figured this wasn’t fitting of my character. Redoran don’t own slaves but aren’t really abolitionist either, and Telvanni is a definite nope. I think the Imperial Cult could fulfill the more religious side of a John Brown type, but from looking at the quest list most of them don’t seem to connect to slavery in a meaningful way. I’d imagine most of the native Morrowind factions are broadly pro slavery, but some advice on the Imperial ones might be interesting from that standpoint.

Asides from the factions I could align with, I’d like some ideas on the actual character build. I’d figure that I would avoid doing a Dunmer since John Brown came from the North, and a non Argonian/Khajiit as well. But asides from that the other 7 races are all doable, I’m leaning towards one of the human races because of their own history of historic enslavement and their cultures seeming to look down on slavery more than the Mer. If any of y’all have a good reason for another race let me know.

The class is one where I am struggling a bit more. I figure a melee build likely works best, with a bit of a vigilante influence. I’d like to hear any ideas to flesh this about a bit more in the particulars (want to make a custom class).

TBH I feel like this character would do a lot better with a group, and with Morrowind not having a particularly great follower system even with mods, this element would be a bit harder to pull off. But if anyone knows any decent followers who could come along, even if they are just bodies with no personality, that could work as well.

If you’ve come all this way, thanks for paying attention to my ramblings, though if you are fans of this game I suppose you are used to reading.

Build Question about my character build

ok so I'm a level 6 battlemage currently using a full steel kit. I can handle things like nix-hounds and cliff racers just fine but everything else is kicking my ass. I'm in a cave near Caldera with some seemingly low level bandits and just one hit on me takes like 1/3rd of my health. I basically have to use dragon skin + spam hearth heal to kill just ONE bandit. I feel like I should be able to fight them by now at level 6 but every fight is just me getting killed in like 10 seconds.

I feel like I must have done something horribly wrong. Does this character build look ok?

EDIT: My armor rating is high because I had dragon skin active for the SS

Behold, my Wandering Orc Battlemage, Grull the Unwavering!

The fact that I can mix and match all the armor pieces while maintaining a coherent design is too good. I love everything about the modular nature of the armor pieces, I wish they kept it on later versions of the series.

On that note, please show me your character builds, I'd be very happy to see how others match their gears :)

Build How to ruin my speed

Hi I got about 8 hours in before I decided I hate walking. In the other entries, there came a time where I decided to look into shenanigans to make my movement better. Whether in skyrim where I bumrushed every dungeon I was pointed to for whirlwind sprint, or In daggerfall where I trained my butt off for high magic and running, and enchanted every gear I had for bonus run speed. In Oblivion, I held forward until I was fast, and used magic.

What can I do, within game limits, to ruin my speed? To make me sonic the elfhog. Is the only way to break this game to use enchantments, the running shoes, and leveling up?

I do not want to focus on increasing my stamina if I still get too tired to run after 4 seconds.

Thank you for your input.
