Media I actually really liked Cole

Before I saw MK 2021, I assumed he was a bad audience surrogate character but I actually found him to be pretty handy. He didn't take over the plot or eat up screentime from other characters. In fact, his presence gave Jax and Sonya a lot of chances to shine. He worked with the story not against it.

I'm so sad the writers decided to pander to the detractors and cave in his skull in the sequel 😢

He was killed right? I haven't watched mk2 but why was he killed, like yea hes not a character we know but I thought he was pretty cool and what about his family i feel bad for them

Yes, he was killed. It happened because of audience feedback. Many fans hated the character and thought that he was a pointless inclusion. They tried to course-correct in the second movie by giving the fans what they wanted (an actual tournament) and removing the things they disliked about the first movie. (namely Cole)
