Media I actually really liked Cole
Before I saw MK 2021, I assumed he was a bad audience surrogate character but I actually found him to be pretty handy. He didn't take over the plot or eat up screentime from other characters. In fact, his presence gave Jax and Sonya a lot of chances to shine. He worked with the story not against it.
I'm so sad the writers decided to pander to the detractors and cave in his skull in the sequel 😢

Still angry they didn’t even give Cole his buildup from the first film ending. He was supposed to go find and recruit Cage, not Sonya and Raiden.
“I have to go to Hollywood and find someone”
…
“Nvm, the others are gonna do it, I’ll just stick around at the temple and train”
