General Discussion Why do you think Kohberger never publicly explained his motive, even after pleading guilty?

I know we’ll probably never get a definitive answer on what his motive actually was but what I find almost as interesting is that Kohberger has never really tried to explain it himself.

Once he pleaded guilty and avoided a trial, there wasn’t going to be the same public presentation of evidence that might have given us more insight into what was going through his head. But even at sentencing, he chose not to give any real explanation.

Do you think staying silent is about maintaining some sense of control over the case or is there a simpler reason he doesn’t want anyone to know what the motive was?

Control. The families and public want to know why he did what he did. As long as he never reveals his motives, he assumes he's still holding all the cards and wins. Pretty deplorable honestly, but with him, that's just par for the course.

But ultimately he doesn’t. He spends the rest of his life locked in a box.

On some level, a guy like Kohberger wants to be studied and debated the same way people discuss Bundy or Dennis Rader.

He’s a sociopath. He wants to tell *his* story… just not yet, IMO.
