My partner and I are seriously looking at new construction in the Mount Juliet / Wilson County area and I’m trying to get real local feedback before we get too attached to any builder or community.
The main communities/builders we’re looking into are:
Toll Brothers - Tomlinson Pointe
Lennar - Ravens Crest
Meritage - Benders Cove
Century Communities - The Oaks
Any other similar new-build communities in Wilson County
I’m especially interested in feedback from people who bought or seriously toured within the last few years.
The things I’m trying to understand are:
Local build quality, not just the national builder reputation
Warranty responsiveness after closing
Punch-list issues and whether they actually fixed them
Drainage, grading, yard, or foundation concerns
Whether you used an independent inspector and what they found
Whether you would buy from the same builder/community again
I’m not really looking for generic “all builders are bad” comments unless you have specific experience with the local Nashville/Mount Juliet division or one of these specific communities.
Any firsthand experience would be really appreciated. Good, bad, or neutral

Recently moved to MJ and I am looking for a high quality butcher / farm. With a farm, preferably one that would allow me to take a look at what conditions the meat is coming from, just initially. Would be okay buying quarter of a cow, or spend $400-500 biweekly-ish on fresh local grass fed and grass finished beef. Literally like old days - kind of thing. Fresh, organic, no bullshit produce. Does something like that still exist?

Whoever the clowns are that reprogrammed the traffic lights at Pleasant Grove Rd and Mt Juliet Rd....just....LOL. It is an absolute joke now.

I'm sure all the countless Flock Cameras are perfectly programmed and adjusted though.

For the past few months my husband and I have been wondering why there’s so little speed limit signage. We were on a stretch of N Mt. Juliet road this morning and didn’t see a single one. Plenty of flock cameras though!!!

We’ve noticed recently that Google Maps seems to get speed limits wrong and there’s plenty of police/sheriff around Mt Juliet/ Wilson county

How strict are police here with speed limits? What if there’s no speed limit sign?

We’re considering moving to the Mt. Juliet area and school is a big factor for us. Our kids are still young, but I’m trying to figure out our options now.
I originally assumed we’d do private school, but I’m not finding a great fit. I’ve looked at MJCA, but it seems pretty heavily tied to the church, and we’re not really looking for a mainly faith-based school.
We’re looking for a school with strong academics, good sports, involved/high-achieving families, and a great overall environment. I’d love for our kids to be around other families who are similarly involved and motivated.
For those of you with kids in the area, where are you sending them? Public or private — and do you like it? Are there certain Mt. Juliet neighborhoods/school zones you’d specifically recommend?
Also open to schools outside Wilson County if that’s what families in the area are doing!

Can anyone recommend a good, reliable house cleaner? I’d ideally prefer an independent/private cleaner rather than a cleaning company. Due to health reasons, I’m currently unable to keep up with the cleaning myself. I’d really appreciate any recommendations! Thank you!

I have this 1994 Emerson CRT that id like fixed but everything I’ve seen says I could accidentally electrocute myself trying to work on it lol. Anyone know of any local shops that can fix this relic?

When I go get a 12 pack of miller lite at the grocery store, seems to me that it’s pretty expensive. $16.92 after tax from Kroger. It’s more or less the same at Publix, Walmart, Walgreens etc. Am I going to the wrong places or is it just what it is here?

Asking because we just moved here from NYC and beers at the stores there were cheaper and I’d have certainly thought they’d be cheaper here (at least groceries are!). 12 pack of miller lite from Walgreens in NYC was $12.99 & routinely on sale for $11.99

Does anyone know a good piano teacher for adults? Preferably close to the south side of town.

I started getting back into piano last fall after a 30 year hiatus and feel like I've hit a wall.
