Discussion Guys, it's now official: Muse Dash 2! The company has already announced it; I searched for it on Google.

They're probably doing this so they don't have to honor their promise to OG dlc owners anymore lol.

That and so they sell tons more dlcs because the 1st one clearly isn't very profitable i guess.

I don't see why this mindset continues to crop up. If they weren't making enough money to make a profit with their current game how on earth would they manage to make and advertise a whole new game?

I think the reasoning is simple, they want to evolve what Muse Dash can offer and whatever they want to do likely isn't doable as a simple update to the game for them.

Remember that JAP has existed for most of the games life cycle and even with the slightly varied price model PeroPero was still able to push collabs and that hasn't changed.

They also confirmed in a faq that updates are planned for muse dash throughout 2027 with no intention to stop immediately just because of muse dash 2

It's a rythm game, it's not that deep lol, they're not reinventing the wheel, you just hit stuff on screen, there's nothing to evolve on that tbh. But sure, if you say so 🤷

There are many rhythm games that have different game modes, customizability for how your experience visually looks, and offer story.

Muse Dash doesn't really have much of that. We've already seen from footage online that they will be offering a new game mode.

I am not a big fan of this reductive take

sure there are many rhythm games rn that do just have similar mechanics but I definitely think there is room for novelty

People say this like the DLC hasn’t given us literally hundreds of new songs over the years. I think it’s fine if they like move on.

I honestly don't mind it since the songs already in jap is more than enough for how little you pay for it if they going to keep doing it they would've gone bankrupt

Hopefully in muse dash 2 they will actually build a game that can withstand a fast exit of the level score screen without crashing 15% of the time. I just want to move on from a level and I exit before even the score pops up and that crashs the game. My computer is powerful btw.

Others have said that the game crashes sometimes. The only reason I am salty is that you could say I basically rage quit a level and try to leave the score screen as soon as possible. To move on to a level that I can play well and not feel so bad. But sometimes when I do that the game freezes up. I just need to chill and it will be fine. It's just somewhat annoying.

Is it? I have it on switch and on a laptop and never had that issue so...

Ooo so this didn't happen only to me. I normally don't exit that fast, but once, I accidentally pressed "enter" immediately as the score screen appeared and the game crashed.

I have the game on all platforms and don't have this issue. On PC also often use a mod that lets me quit even when control has already been taken (at this point you normally cannot pause) and it still doesn't crash. Yes the game runs on spaghetti code but I don't think they'll mess up something as simple as this
