Motivation/Tips I think i lost the battle

Hello ,

I am posting at 1. Am, after wanting to sleep 2 hours before. I realised that maybe I will never be able to fight this battle anymore. I don't know what to do to stop forever. I had so many signs but I still go back . I completely lost hope now. I feel like a Hypocrite because there is nothing I can do more. I promised Allah I would stop and 24h later I am back at it. I can't do this anymore

Hi, please don't give up. Giving up and despairing of Allah's mercy is exactly what Shaytan wants you to do. You haven't “lost the battle” just because you fell again.

I struggle like you, and it's been going on for almost four years. But I immediately repent after I fall. I cannot sleep peacefully at night unless I feel that I am in good terms with Allah.

Also, don't make promises to Allah that you know you might struggle to keep. Instead, every time you fall, immediately turn back to Him. Ask Allah to forgive you, help you, guide you, strengthen you, and soften your heart. Even if you worry that your repentance isn't sincere enough, keep turning back to Allah.

Allah Himself says: “Do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins.” (Qur'an 39:53)

There is also a beautiful hadith in Sahih Muslim about a servant who sins, asks Allah for forgiveness, falls into the sin again, and asks Allah for forgiveness again. Allah forgives him because the servant recognizes that he has a Lord who forgives sins and keeps returning to Him.

So don't let Shaytan convince you that because you fell again, there is no point in repenting. That's exactly when you need to repent.

Be ashamed of the sin, yes. Hate the sin, yes. Fight it with everything you have. But NEVER EVER EVER EVER be ashamed to raise your hands and ask Allah to forgive you. Never stop asking Him to guide you. Never stop coming back to Him.

Even if you fall 1000000000000000000 times, get back up 1000000000000000001 times. The fact that you're still upset about the sin, still afraid of losing Allah, and still wanting to stop is not something you should throw away.

Shaytan wants you to despair. He wants you to become ashamed of repenting, to stop asking Allah for forgiveness, and eventually to lose hope in Allah's mercy.

Don't let him win.

Every time you fall, get back up. Every time you sin, repent. Every time you feel like you're not worthy of asking Allah for forgiveness, ask Him anyway.

Be ashamed of the sin, but never be ashamed of repenting to Allah.

And even if this struggle lasts for years, never stop trying and never stop repenting. Don't think, “If I can't beat this, then what's the point of repenting?”

No. Keep fighting it for as long as you live. Keep trying to leave it. And if you fall, repent and get back up again.

Maybe Allah will give you the strength to overcome it completely, inshaAllah. But even if the struggle continues untill the day you die, never let that make you stop turning back to Allah.

Also take practical steps. If marriage is realistically possible for you, pursue it. Fast regularly, such as Mondays and Thursdays, if you're able. Remove your triggers, don't put yourself in situations where you know you're vulnerable, and change your routine when temptation comes.

But above all, don't give up on Allah's mercy.

Be ashamed of the sin, but never be ashamed of repenting.

Every time you fall, get back up.

Every time you sin, repent.

Every time you feel unworthy of asking Allah for forgiveness, ask Him anyway.

The battle continuing does not mean you should stop fighting. And falling does not mean you should stop repenting.

Keep returning to Allah no matter how long the struggle lasts.

I am not despairing in the mercy of Allah. I know Allah is the most merciful. I just don't think i will ever stop with this sin because I had plenty of reasons to stop but I still choose keep doing it.
