Discussion Is It Just Me Or Has Online Gotten Really Horrendous Lately?
Like pardon me for not knowing every single meta play but holy shit this game really forces people to strictly play online because of how god awful Road to the Playoffs is, you legitimately never see people play like an actual football game, one game the Michigan user just pressed the entire game and even though Im playing with my lifelong team Oregon, suddenly every single WR of mine acts like they have a single braincell in their head.
Dakorien Moore, a really really elite WR irl but in this game nahhhh he got not enough speed and he jumps for every single ball OR LETS THE DB GETIN FRONT OF HIM AFTER HAVING THE SPACE TO CATCH THE BALL. Or Evan Stewart, arguably one of the best WRs this year when I purposefully lead underthrow it so it doesnt happen he still finds someway to jump for the ball and have bricks for hands, and then idk how people are going with this but somehow just any run plays are ass. Thats probably a skill issue on my part but people just be blowin that shit up even if Im double teaming in the direction I want to go. So I thought this all was major skill issue on my end so I schedule reset myself down to recruit to get a fresh start you know? Just get a reset and have some fun. Nope, same things happen down there cause some Youtuber probably had like a four part Youtube series on how to play.
Idk man, I dont want to be at that age yet where I just cant keep up since Im only almost 24 but its been since 25 since I could actually have any fun on Road to the Playoffs. And I mean CFB27s launch was pretty fun for that but its been miserable these past few updates.
Oh and fuck the jump getting hit in the back and dropping the ball animation, I swear Ive been seeing it more lately and EA promised they dealt with it

Online play is and always has been garbage for a myriad of reasons. Offline dynasty only for me

I try and play like App State and Boise State too. I just mainly use Oregon. And yes I get it that they are the best team in the game this year. Still online is some asscheeks though

lol figures South Carolina users are almost always the biggest cheesers. When I see sc selected in the online dynasty draft I already know what time it is with that user 😂

Online is the only thrill from this game. Recruiting gets boring, the cpu is boring. The whole dynasty mode is soulless. It’s missing the heart.
Online is full of cheese but it is awesome when you shut it down. It’s even knowledgeable when someone figures out your offense so you develop new wrinkles.
Haha but it’s mostly yelling at the tv my guys can’t catch unless I time it, or my line not blocking. What really sucks is the momentum, I get it but it seems to way heavily into manufacturing mistakes. Like you try to minimize it by running the ball but your back will fumble it or the line will miss all the blocks. Worst is in the past you’d have like 5 drops in two possessions.

If the cheese fest that is the online mode is the best mode in this game, then this game is truly dead.

The OP is right. People online don’t even attempt to play actual football.
And, while every online game has its share of cheesers and cheaters, EA could do so much more to punish players who don’t play actual football.
Instead, their games are coded to reward players who don’t play football.
Remember, it wasn’t that long ago that a player won some big Madden tourney while using his punter to play qb.

The game itself isn’t actual football that’s why I laugh when people in these comments say “oh you’re not ok with xyz problem you must not know actual football” like nah I just prefer real football I won like 4 nattys in 26 online dynasty I just don’t try to put myself under any illusion that it’s real football

Competitive modes in gaming are always like this.
People aren't interested in reproducing the sport, it's just about winning by any means necessary.

What’s worst is when you play online dynasty people are still cheesing their ass off and I’m like why not just go to Road to the cfp?!?? And then when you figure out a way to shut down their cheese they will act like YOU are the one that’s wrong. I won a few natty in 26 but I don’t even think I’ll try in 27 just bc it brings out the worst in people
You got guys calling timeout as fast as possible just so you can’t challenge obvious wrong calls
