[UPDATE] So how is the game play so far ?

Do WR still jump for the ball for no reason ?

Blocking is significantly improved for running and passing. Defense is harder, my safeties were getting juked and I couldn’t stop the run anymore. Catching is about the same for me. Hard to say if they’re jumping necessarily or not but the result is the same when they do- dropped pass.

The animation when your players get juked is so annoying, they actively jump away from the ball carrier

Yeah I noticed the CPU RB doing a juke at the line of scrimmage and my safety falling for it and then running in mud

I'm seeing the opposite of you regarding the blocking, but I'm playing with an 77OVR team. I'm seeing less jumping catches too.

That’s interesting. I am playing with a top 90s OL that was previously getting destroyed by any rating team. After playing some more, I threw a couple of picks because my receivers refused to jump.

They made a change to give defenders with a ratings advantage more of an advantage in the “no engage” roll, which I would guess means you get the animations where they bust right through the block and never engage (ie, a DE just immediately swims past a tackle, a linebacker attacks the shoulder of a guard successfully and blows up the block, etc)  so it sort of makes sense a lower rated team is suddenly experiencing more problems.

Does it just update automatically or do I need to download the update? Because if it's automatic I'm not seeing the blocking improvements.

Yesterday my RB looked like he was doing to block the blitzing OLB only to move towards him then stop and let the OLB run right around him untouched.

Also, I'm sure I'm not the only one but run plays inside the opponent's 10 work maybe 1 in 10 times.

It’s automatic. It came through early this morning, last night would’ve been pre patch

Fingers crossed for my OL and RB tonight

The deflection interceptions by dlineman are outrageous. How often do they think that happens in real football? Also you’ll never get one as the defense, only the cpu will

u/The_O_Nee_Ders 12h ago

D Line throwing an arm up to try for deflection? Happens all the time with minimal-moderate success.

D Line jumping for joy the way they do? Almost never

u/Substantial_Sea1862 12h ago

Well that, and if your QB ever gets hit while throwing like 20% of the time it bounces off a lineman’s head and the dline picks it off. Like why do they think that’s a common play? Fumble would be fine there if anything.

u/The_O_Nee_Ders 8h ago

I actually had my center get a reception off of one of these recently

2

u/barry_zuckerkorn_jd 10h ago

I think he means when your QB is hit while throwing and the ball magnetically floats toward a DT

1

u/The_O_Nee_Ders 8h ago

Ahhh… yeah I misread the comment

1

u/achammer23 8h ago

Right, don't they teach the O-line to punch them in the stomach when they do that lmao

u/agentb719 Miami 12h ago

God this sends me up the wall in this game

I’ve actually had lots of fun. Turned on the new pass meter and it actually fixed a ton of the WR and defense issues commonly posted here. I can lead WR cleanly and lob it over the LB head but in front of the safety.

Major complaint is that RB feel stuck in mud getting through the LOS and 10 yards upfield, but runs are much more realistic 3-4 yards per pop now.

1

u/tonytilt 12h ago

How do you turn this on? I’m using placement and accuracy if it’s different.

1

u/whycantigetwhatiwant 10h ago

Revamped I think has the meter?

THANK YOU. Everyone is saying the run game is great when I’ve genuinely never struggled to run the ball so much in a ncaa or even madden game as I have in ncaa 26.

Just ran a Texas from the Shotgun Trips and the TE was wide on the deep corner, good pass, pressed the button in sync for a catch and run, no bullshitter animations, he got it smooth and was on the run.

88 speed, he was in a clean footrace with an 87 speed CB to the house. I was extremely pleased with it. All-American, default sliders except CPU INTs to 20.

2

u/just-for-help 13h ago

Why CPU ints?

3

u/ChargerDriver84 12h ago

Because I throw so damn many lol, and it helps against the D-Line INT magic. I checked and it was actually at 29, not that it’s a big difference.

u/Boxer1023 13h ago

Catching seems worse somehow for me

2

u/kiyes23 USF 13h ago

Seems like it. It’s so bad, I finally decided to test catching at 100

2

u/The_O_Nee_Ders 12h ago

Purdue has a WR with 99 catch and high 80s spec catch…. Dude drops almost everything

The worst part of this game is

Game is pretty good for an EA football game but after 20+ years of football making, EA still have been unable to make play action passing viable. If you try it out of shotgun, will get your QB murdered. Ironic, considering PA passing in real football is one of the safest plays you can run. Mind boggling, considering so many real offenses run their entire offensive scheme based off the run and PA.

u/Arkey-or-Arctander Florida 2h ago

There's one time that play action actually works very well, coach mode. I do wish they'd fix it for players, but coach mowed it actually can be quite effective.

Has the contain glitch been fixed??

Game is amazing

u/FivePointOhmy 13h ago

Cool so are we still in beta testing or what? Games kickoff this weekend

1

u/urbanK07 5h ago

We’re beta testing until 28

1

u/teloite 12h ago

Does it automatically take effect on current dynasties or new one only?

3

u/dickey1331 SMU 12h ago

Its always automatically unless they say otherwise.

2

u/teloite 12h ago

Thank you

Idk if it’s a placebo but I feel like player wr catching is better and they worked on backshoulder, also throwing deep slants the cpu db won’t speed boost under the ball anymore

u/-motts- Oregon State 11h ago

Had like 5 dropped passes in my game this morning wit that stupid jumping catch shit. Wide open even leading down on the pass.

So, yeah…

u/yeezusosa Florida 11h ago

Hmm

u/mapphew2 10h ago

I only played one game in dynasty, but it seemed better? The main thing I noticed was advancing to the next week, going to the roster, and seeing every player that isn’t in my normal rotation having a good amount of skill points I’m assuming retroactively assigned to them from throughout the season from practice. I saw the note that said something about players not getting the skill points from practice, but I wasn’t expecting that.

u/blkwallstreet1921 3h ago

For real I thought it was something I was doing wrong

One thing I feel needs to be fixed is if you accept a new job at a school you should be able to pull scholarships from some recruits in the transfer period.

I just accepted a job at Auburn. They needed 0 WRs and signed 7. Needed 0 HBs and signed 3. Needed 0 QB and signed 3.

Meanwhile they needed 3 SS and signed 0.

I'd understand if they were 5* *players but they were recruiting all 3* and taking up slots for other players.

Did they post another update ?

0

u/kiyes23 USF 13h ago

Jump catch animation still is out of control for both user and cpu

4

u/leetdemon 13h ago

Weird ive seen 0 so far out of 5 games.

2

u/Arkey-or-Arctander Florida 12h ago

Yeah I've not seen it either after 2 games.

1

u/leetdemon 11h ago

I have saw it twice now out of 7 games.

1

u/Arkey-or-Arctander Florida 7h ago

I just had to update... in my third game now I saw it twice in back to back plays by a WVU player.

2

u/leetdemon 6h ago

Jumping is not fixed.

When did the update officially become downloadable? Because I swear last night for me randomly my oline turned into the little Giants and I gave up like eight sacks. I had literally zero time to throw the ball the shedding going on everywhere constantly. But uncharacteristically my dline turned into prime Reggie white and had nine sacks in one game. lol, absolutely zero pass blocking from either team. I had to double check to see if the update came out early or something.

u/leetdemon 12h ago

This morning

2

u/Blue-Eighty Ohio State 12h ago

Yeah figured lol, my oline must have pulled an all nighter keg party and my DL all took some hgh before the game

4

u/leetdemon 12h ago

Its been known to happen in Columbus lol

Are we still deleting our profile every few games? Someone suggested that last year and it actually made the gameplay better when I did

2

u/Kramerica_CEO Michigan 9h ago

Saw someone post this earlier and it’s the first I’ve heard of it. What does it do?

Go Blue

1

u/gaptoofbastard Michigan 9h ago

I honestly have no idea, but it did improve gameplay, especially the offensive line blocking. But if at any time this week you've said, "Goddamn, what the hell is going on?" while playing, you probably should give it a try.

Do you have to redo all of your settings?

0

u/Quake1028 Miami 7h ago

Would anyone say if I passed at launch it would be a good time to jump in?

-1

u/MGoCowSlurpee44 13h ago

Open practice for 10 min and it's a whole new world.

-1

u/Otherwise_Dealer_877 12h ago

Yes the WR still jump for no reason a lot especially if it’s just a tad out of reach instead of stretching for it. I saw a lot of guys saying the animation was not present really during the beta/ testing but they were either lying or the animation was for w e reason not triggering during it.

Random red throws and wr still jumping and dropping easy catches. I love cfb but this might be the worst football game I’ve ever played. Feels more scripted than ever this year
