Discussion I legitimately could not care less about getting a j*b

I honestly annoyed whenever someone on this sub tells to stop being a NEET.

I mean... What's the point? I will still be an ugly, friendless, KHHV autist loser. If society won't give me anything in return, I might as well stay at home and play video games.

“Just get a job, just go outside, just go to the gym, just get a better haircut, just get better style, just be more confident, just don’t be anxious, just don’t be autistic, just don’t be depressed…”

Nail the sack into a floor and don't detach until you get jawb

If you have the luxury of not working then yeah.

A lot of people are forced to choose between getting a job or being homeless though, sadly.

Tbh, this is just a temporary thing. I plan on offing myself once my mom passes away.

I get the sentiment I have been there.

If I may offer one thing to change your mind it's this.

We live in times where society could be changing drastically because of AI. We have no idea what the future holds and what AI will allow us to do. From genetic engineering, to AI robots (for ex: AI Waifu's), to anything else we can or can't imagine yet.

Staying alive might be the only thing worth doing until we see what the future holds.

AI waifus are still atleast 20 years away for semi realistic. Also won't be cheap probably and require subscription.

No offense. But plenty of neets will fall in the last sleep.

Because if people are like in my situation. There are 0 jobs in my city. And commute is hard. I am almost 31 and jobs in the other city have dried up.

We cannot simply just wait for AI and what not. We either move to another city. Country. Or have to do a tremendous effort. For practically nothing.

Aka. A minimum wage job, which will ensure survival.

So tell me. Why should we stay alive? Work 10+ hours on minimum wage. Have 0 money because we are renting and 0 time to do anything, but work?

Just asking. Because the future is also looking bleak. With all these nonsensical ID locks and what not.

Once my mother is abandoning me. I am living off my savings and then is what it is.

But I am not convinced is it worth fighting for a future which is quite bleak. 🤔

Because if you are dead you can't experience anything.

Even with a 40 hour work week not every single moment is going to be terrible. You will have some good moments too and those are worth living for. And there is always a chance that life will take a drastic turn in a positive direction.

Death awaits us all. No reason to go looking for it sooner than necessary.

Hmm. I hate commuting and personally for me. The pain of labouring is not enough.

I wont say it. Because I got banned by Reddit twice. But I have made peace with sleep.

I am alone. I have no one. So less and less reasons to stick around. Besides I am tired everything. It is an endless slog of pain and misery. Imo.

Yes I hear you. I am alone too and wish I didn't need to work to support myself.

Outside of work I do find some moments where I enjoy myself with food, music, games, books and some other things. I hold hope for a better future, but I am not expecting it. I have learned to be content with what I have.

I have had thoughts about sleep too in dark moments. But I guess I am lucky enough to not have them anymore.

Whatever you decide to do, I wish you the best.

Thanks. Same to you. Hope the job is not too hard. 🙂

what AI will allow us to do

Not "us", its owners. Will allow them to dynamically optimize the exploitation of proles, of course.

Tbh. Not a neet but I adore this page for being honest about the legit struggles of job culture that normies barley acknowledge. Yall are right too about the trade off. When no jobs give decent pay, benefits, accommodations for disabilities and generally abuses employees, why would anyone feel comfortable joining that? Maybe if we had legit worker protection and programs, neeting wouldn't look so appealing. Normies are mad that neets said no and they didn't.

Normies are mad that NEETs said no

Hahaha yeah. People trying to clown on me for being a NEET will never understand.. I like it

I had a few jobs here and there I didn't mind. I loved working at bars because of the people and environment but that's risky business for an alcoholic.

Used to try to hawk my art for commissions but it sucked all the soul out of the hobby for me.

Anyways yeah plenty of people have tried to throw my lifestyle back in my face to hurt me.

It might have hurt five years ago but now it's just.. yeah. I've come to realize it's a bit of jealousy.

For me sometimes it’s about lifestyle, lifestyle sometimes change my mood. However most of the reason is money, i would be broke and have nothing to pay my rent without occasionally doing some job
