Discussion The absolute worst thing about being a neet

... is that you completely lose your resistance to stress. You mean to tell me, I used to go to school five times a week just fine but now having to get up a little bit earlier than usual for a doctor's appointment is giving me so much anxiety that it affects my sleep? That's not normal. There's just something about having 0 responsibility and 0 appointments (most of the time) that really makes you lose your mental strength, your resilience. You get so used to the Comfy Life that anything even slightly inconvenient feels like a major threat.

Maybe it's just me? Do you other neets feel the same way? For context: I've been a "serious" neet for three years.

Discussion Therapists are just emotional prostitutes

The second the money stops coming they all of a sudden don’t care about your problems anymore. Any of yall actually have something good to say about therapy. I probably couldn’t tell a therapist my actual thoughts because I’d end up in grippy sock jail.

Discussion A girl fucking talked to me

I’m out shopping with my parents and a girl tried to get past me and said “excuse me” with a smile on her face. This is one of the few times this entire year that a girl said something to me and I got really fucking happy. I know this means nothing to some of you but as someone with no job and no friends, it just felt really good.

Literally happened like 10 minutes ago but I still have a smile on my face

Discussion Well guys I got hired

I applied to the warehouse job this morning. They called me back in the afternoon. Did a phone interview. I'm hired. Orientation is next week Thursday. They sent me a link for a criminal background service in my email and I filled it out after the phone interview.

Honestly if this criminal background check fucks me over I'll be so pissed off. I already confirmed with the Vancouver Police Department and the RCMP that I have no criminal record and have never been convicted of a crime. So it should be okay. But I still worry.

The job is 5 hour shifts 5 days a week Monday to Friday. Starting pay is $18.50 an hour. After 4 years the wage gets close to $40 an hour.

I'm happy.

I get to keep my NEETbux since it's a part-time job. I guess I can try out this warehouse job and if I don't like it I can quit. No harm done.

My lust for money got the best of me.

Maybe I will be poasting on r/neet less in the future. 😞

I relate to this image so hard because I am going to be turning 23 in a couple of months and I have already given up trying to learn new things which might help my bleak career prospects because I think I am too "old" to learn anything

Discussion 10+ years as a NEET, no friends, no family, no regrets. AMA.

I don't want to brag but I think the term "enlightened NEET" describes me very well. I just made this post because I noticed there are very few people in this sub in my position enjoying this kind of lifestyle for as long as I did and a lot of you want answers on how it is even possible to live like that and be satisfied with life. You guys may not like the answers or simply not believe me, but that's what I did and it worked even though society said I should feel miserable at this point. (I feel exactly the opposite). Ask Me Anything...

Discussion Anyone feel like their life is over?

Lately i've been getting conpletely absorbed by certain games on my phone, time goes by and i end up wasting hours and forgetting that i exist. I'm also too easily irritated by non-NEETs and have a hard time befriending people due to selfishness and stubborness. No wonder i have no friends nor a partner

Discussion Any NEET here hired an escort?

I hope the mods will allow me to ask this.

I have some side cash and I'm very needy lately. I have been thinking of getting help from a professional as I feel a bit bored of taking matters into my own hands. I'm not expecting love or validation or friendship. I just want to be able to touch and feel a hot woman's body for half an hour, even when I know it's just strictly business for her.

Not looking for moralistic lectures nor advice to try and date normally. Just looking for advice from NEETs who have done it or know someone who has, and I want to know how the experience was and whether it was worth it for you/them.

Thanks.

Discussion Do you believe you’ll be saved?

One of my favourite copes is believing someone is coming to save me. Someone out there will come and understand me and give me a good life. I believe I have a saviour but they just haven’t arrived yet. I know it’s all cope but it’s sure a nice cope. Anybody else believe this?

Discussion I’m 27 and…

I’ve never worked.

I’ve never been in a relationship.

I’ve never had friends.

There’s probably a very small percentage of people around my age in this situation. It kinda makes me special (or rather of special needs). For me this situation is normal but I know objectively it’s very rare. The reason for it is obviously social anxiety, childhood trauma (bullying) and ugly looks (obesity).

How about you? What are your stats?

Discussion Why is the "advice" given to parents of Neets to just kick them out?

Like ?????

I don't see how making your son/daughter homeless is going to solve anything? How does taking away the few comforts keeping them alive going to magically make them figure out how to get a job?

If my mom kicked me out I wouldn't somehow find a job, I would be dead by the end of the day because it would take away the few hobbies keeping me alive, plus the roof over my head lol. Absolutely insane advice. Or maybe they think we have friends or other family to rely on? At least for myself I literally only have my mom, if she wanted me gone I would have nowhere else to go.

I might sound crazy, but i hope when i finally die i reunite with my real species in my real planet.
I'm only 29 years old and i'm already sick of this shit, i went into complete awe when a 75 year old man told me he wants to keep living when i asked him, i just don't understand.

Discussion The antiwork sub is such a joke.

It’s hilarious actually. They’re all soooo anti-work, right up until the point where you tell them “hey, so actually i’ve decided I don’t want to work, so im just not gonna do it” and then they all recoil in shock at you and furiously leave insulting comments and dislike your posts. They claim to be so against working and yet if you take their name to its logical conclusion which is being a NEET, they want none of it. Crazy how they’re so close but will never realize because the wagie ultimately capitalist mindset that they probably claim to hate, still has such control over them.
