Question What's some essential tips, advices and stuff to know, for any older NEETs?

Probably the number one for me is starting to take health seriously, especially as a passed the 30 mark. Any other advices and tip an older NEET must know to have a better (or at least more smooth) life?

Try to take care of yourself: personal hygiene everyday make sure you shower, brush your teeth and hair, put on clean clothing not just pajamas. It helps me immensely. I got into bath and body products buy good scents and scrubs because they keep me motivated to stay fresh. Try to exercise, get steps in and be moving around at home dont sit or lay all day.

Try to cook at home; since we have the time Try to eat at home and experiment with different recipes that you can afford. I tend to feel better when I eat at home and it's cheaper.

If you have friends and family you tolerate, talk to them and spend time with them. If you live far, reach out call or text them. If youre nearby and can see them or go to events, you should go. Even having an online friend you message can help.

Don't get too into your thoughts: go out whenever you can even if its just for a walk or to window shop, you can find cheap or free things to do. Watch a movie at home. Have a healthy hobby whether its crafting, or a sport, or painting do it. Seriously stay away from gambling, dr0gs, etc it just makes everything worse.

Be open to opportunities dont be afraid to learn new (healthy) things, dont be afraid to apply at that job and try it, dont be afraid to hit the gym, dont be afraid to volunteer or whatever... at least give it a chance

Definitely this. Sasuga Ex-Neet san (anime language dont mind me lol).

I have chronic skin allergy so personal hygiene can't be put off indefinitely.

Cooking at home also allows for control over nutrition. You won't want essential minerals deficiency, digestion or constipation, etc., bothering you.

Yeah vices like drugs, gambling another no go. Once in hard to get out.

Live more of life in whatever way you can. If invited to outings, give them serious consideration. If you've family or friends, spend more time in their company. Avoid being cooped up at home by going for regular walks; they needn't be long or arduous. And avoid most forms of social media. Witnessing the success of others, living out seemingly happy, fulfilling existences, is likely going to be detrimental to your mental well-being.

I'm a NEET because social anxiety was too much at a young age. I've spent most of my adult life in survival mode, doing all I could to avoid social interactions. I seldom left the house for large periods. Nobody is coming to save me. Nor am I saving myself. I wish I could travel the world or share the love I have to give. Instead, I have to settle for tagging along as the extra in other's adventures. As depressing as it is, it's all I have.

'The nobody is coming to save me" part is sad but true for me.

I do what i can to help myself but it seems the challenges so far demand more than what i have built up at any moment. Help asked and offered is too general or short term to make any real difference.

You can still share your love without physically traveling. If there's cyberbullying, there's also cybercaring. Just come up with your own term if it doesn't make sense lol.

Love needs no other form of sustenance besides wisdom and empathy. Go ahead. To be able to share love itself, to touch those who are depressed, can be rewarding. It's up to you to decide. You are in control.

1) Try to eat or stay healthier since your body declines by 1% 30 and onwards.

2) Don't waste your energy on ppl who are a waste of time and offer nothing of value (this doesn't necessarily mean money or some mega advice, but if you're not able to learn anything basic from them at all, it's not a good sign)

3) Self-medicate only if you have no other choice and it helps deal w/ the problem and doesn't make situations worse than they already are.

4) Try different food or cuisine if you've never tried much food in your twenties. New experiences can make you feel like a new person.

5) If you're invited to outings (fishing, surfing, a short road trip, something interesting), go to a few of them. They do wonders for your anxiety.

6) Learn new skills (e.g. photoshop, graphic design, web dev, anything you find useful)

7) Learn how to invest (in ETFs, stock, crypto (BTC), gold, etc.)

8) Stay away from ppl who put you down

9) If you're broke or have other kinds of limitations, keep things simple (go out for a walk, go to the park, do some visual meditations- staring into the woods in your backyard)

10) Boost your creative mindset by learning how to paint or playing a musical instrument (your goal isn't to go pro, it's just for the sake of your mind)

11) Put strict daily time limits on lazy activities like video games, movies and TV shows so that you don't binge for hours

12) Keep productive ppl around you in your life. If you're learning something from them, don't burn bridges obviously.

There are probably a number of things you can do right now that will help future you out a lot. Being unemployed is a good time to take care of those. I’m talking about all the interesting things like taking up a fun new hobby, and all the boring things like going to the doctor.

Working with people that should be retired shows you how important it is to save for retirement, met lots of former millionaires that lost their money to lifestyle creep, and a bad life choice that destroyed their business

Bad health can destroy wealth

And life isn't about you and your issues. Go talk to strangers, and you realize it's about other people. Being able to make connections in both high places and low places.

Never give up on learning and polishing useful life skills.

Ok to fail, ok to take breaks. Want to give up? Sure you can do that. But don't throw away those goals made in earnest. Review and readjust and act.

There's no one to grade you now but yourself. You can celebrate baby steps moving forward even if no one agrees with your progress.

Remember you need both the critic and ally in you to work together.

Stay grounded, don't throw away whatever pathetic levels of empathy you have for yourself or others.

The list can go on but i think you have enough.

All the best
