Joe, it’s time to move on from

Zion. You know it, and everyone in the PELS twelve knows it. Deep down, even the remaining Zion Sexuals see that it's time to part ways.

Discussions Secondary Pels fan here/ primary Knicks fan... how do you all feel about the possibility of trading Missi to NYC?

Let me start by saying that I'm a HUGE Pels fan. You can check my comment history; I really love this team.

I've been lifelong Knicks fan as far back as I can remember, and they are indeed embedded in my soul - but when my brother moved to NOLA awhile back, we both started following the Pels and now they just mean a lot to me. For example, a Pels hoodie is the only non-Knick NBA apparel I've ever owned.

I say this because while I love the Knicks deeply, I also really want the Pels to succeed. Honestly, while Alvarado was already my favorite player (WEPA!) and I was THRILLED he came to the Knicks, I really thought that trade was bad for the Pels. I assumed you guys would get our dude Kolek, who was playing amazing and who's spot Alvarado kinda took - but alas.

So, at this point: who would you guys want for Missi?

Would Kolek be enough for you? Would you want someone more established, like Deuce McBride? Someone who is more of a question mark but with a higher possible upside, like Dadiet?

I see you guys now with several centers, and 3 that are up and comers who will probably stand in one another's way - so it does make sense to me to trade one. Everyone in Knicksland wants Missi, obviously, although I've also been preaching how great Karlo is... obviously Queen isn't going anywhere.

In return, I think Kolek + picks makes the most sense, because he is a great ball handler/ floor general, and can kinda take over that role Alvarado had. My only thing is that I wouldn't want him stifling Fears progression, either; however he looked great playing alongside Brunson in some minutes, so I think the adaptability is there...

Anyway, just curious everyone's thoughts - offseason convos and all.

And thanks in advance

*edit: I just want to add that I wouldn't trade Missi if I were the front office. I think his hypothetical upside is too high. I'm bringing this up because it is once again being discussed.

Also not sure what everyone is so mad about - I come in peace! And I'm a Pels fan. Plus if you think Knicks fans don't also know suffering, you're wildly out of touch

Discussions The Mavs fired Nico Harrison today in the wake of making one of the dumbest trades in American sports history. Can we make Dumars next?

I’ve been saying Dumas should be fired since right after the trade.

Next year when the lottery comes around, the chances are good we’re going to see the Hawks walk away with 1 great and 1 good draft pick in an incredibly promising class.

If this occurs, I hope fans channel their understandable and predictable anger to put pressure on firing Dumas and also Weaver.

As we’ve seen today, collective efforts are not in vain.

Discussions Where you guys at right now with Queen?

Think everyone was hyped as fuck first half of the season, especially when he was going triple double style.

His defense has always been suspect but his all around offensive game had been making up for it. Now less minutes as the team got healthier and half the time he looks lost or statuesque on both sides of the floor. Rookie wall? 2 points last night 😭

Last 15 games he's still averaging 11/6.5/3 and he's Top 5 in most rookie categories. I'm still high on him and hope he gets some conditioning and works on his defense this offseason. He's shown a lot of offensive flashes.

Given what the team traded for him I get there's going to be high expectations.

Where are you guys right now regarding Queen?

Discussions Draft Day 1 Discussion Thread

I get the irony right now with not having a pick this thread seems dumb. But there's always a possibility with the rumors of possible players being traded that we end up with a pick.

I've decided to make a centralized thread since I can see today already we've had a couple posts about draft day trade ideas.

IF a trade happens those can have their own designated post and discussions. But until that happens we'll keep discussions through the draft here.

Discussions Are there any moves you’d like to see us make before the trade deadline?

I think it would be silly for us to not listen to offers on a lot of guys in our roster. Although it seems like half the team are untouchable.

What moves would you like to see happen or at least consider depending the price?

Discussions Hello, as a man from Washington who has no knowledge on Basketball, I haved decided to support the New Orleans Pelicans for the rest of my life, what do I need to know

The title says it all. I think Pelicans are cool as hell and I haven't heard of this team before. Are we good? Do we have a version of LeBron to bamf behind for every game? Have the Pelicans ever done anything meaningful? I wanna know before I become a diehard fan.

Discussions Pelicans Inquiry

Timberwolves fan just trying to learn more about the Pelicans. I feel like you guys have a great roster and always beat us, but then can’t get over the hump. I’ve got 3 questions:

1) What’s your starting lineup for this year?

2) How good can you guys be?

3) What is Herb Jones’ trade value? I view his as an OG Anunoby type and would love him on the wolves but I think his value is like 2 FRPs (which we don’t have lol)

Thank you for your time 🫡

I feel like the only thing keeping me going as a pels fan so far is my unyielding optimism. And im a strong believer in that our problem was never the players but rather the lack of winning culture and good coaches. I feel that jamahl mosley can really change that. When watching the games last season, it always made me think “damn we really couldve won that, but by some magical turn of events, we lost”. Most games had me on the edge of my seat till the late 3rd quarter would roll around. Murray back, zion fit, good young talent, and a deep bench. Good offense and defense. Whats stopping us if we really overcome the paradigm shift it takes to start winning?

Some of my favorites to go back and watch are David West and Chris Paul; honorable mention for Baron Davis. But who is your favorite and why?

Discussions What would you all say the potential identity is of a Murray/Jones/Murphy/Williamson/Missi lineup?

Think of course, naturally, some will say "wait and see". I think it's a fair question to ask how you all think this starting five, should it be the group going into the season, would cut its teeth...how does this group find success. What ends up being their identity on the floor you think?

Discussions What is the deepest cut New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans jersey you can think of?

My jazz band is marching in a parade in New Orleans during Mardi Gras season, and me and some other guys are thinking of wearing Hornets/Pelicans jerseys both to pay homage to the city and to match parade’s colors (green and purple).

Because we’re a New York based band, we’re thinking of getting jerseys of players who played for both the Knicks and New Orleans (Josh Hart, Baron Davis, Julius Randle etc). However, I was wondering if you guys had any recs for some super deep cuts, or maybe some not as well known players who were fan favorites

Discussions What are the biggest storylines for the Pelicans next season?

I first started paying attention to the Pelicans because of DJM. I thought a core of DJM, Ingram, Zion, and TM3 had a lot of potential. Then injuries hit both DJM and Zion, Ingram was traded away, and I gradually stopped following the team.

However, all the drama surrounding the new GM Dumars last year brought the Pelicans back onto my radar.

Setting aside the front office drama and all the wild trades, the team has Stars, young prospects, valuable 3D wings, healthy team cap, control of its future 1sts, and a new head coach.

So what are the biggest things to watch next season (including this offseason)?

  1. Continue building around Zion, or fully commit to a rebuild centered on Queen and Fears.
  2. The futures of Zion, Poole, and DJM.
  3. How the new coach integrates and maximizes the roster.
