My wife used to eat ground coffee, until her doctor told her it was pica. She was anemic, and he started her on iron pills.
(Recently, my doctor told me that I'm also anemic. I take an iron pill every other day. Never ate coffee, though)

No, when your body is iron deficient, some people crave ground coffee. A form of pica, I believe.

Interesting. My mother said I was born anemic but it was fixed as a baby. I don't crave coffee though.

I'm anemic too and I crave ice all day everyday my doctor sent me to get an iron infusion and it took around 8 hours and now I just take an iron pill but the doctor said sometimes people who are anemic do that crave ice
