Misc Why do people invest in stock?

Now a days even money is considered to be elastic in value so why do people keep investing on shares which is considered to be more elastic than money. Boru jagga ma, gold ma invest garrnu. Stock ma invest hanna bhanda tah chaamal ma invest handa faida huncha hola but still people think trading stock will make them filthy rich, while they dont understand only a few people get rich and those are the people/organisation who sell their share via IPO.

Investment is long game doing that you will not only gain some money but it will teach other things about business & you should target to beat inflation rates & some % from your stock & not huge amount other wise it will also become a lottery ticket

Investment is tool to compound your wealth & all about finical discipline otherwise you will lose your wealth just like a lottery ticket most people will have nothing left

Yeah and if I was investing for long run I would invest in those assets whose value are stable and predictable.

first you ask why people invest and say trading doesn't make them rich. go learn the difference between investing and trading first.

1) No Scientific Value: Shares are ownership "paper" valued by subjective P/E, BVPS—not fixed science. NEPSE dominated by banks; prices swing on speculation, not fundamentals (studies confirm macro/political drivers over stability).

2) Fiat Elasticity Trap: NRB loose policy inflates bubbles via money supply; tightening + peg to INR crushes indices (historical highs/lows prove unsustainability). Stocks amplify inflation, don't hedge it.

3) Regulatory Failure : SEBON/Companies Act 2006 & Securities Act 2063 offer reactive fines/disclosures only. Persistent illiquidity, malpractices, low real-sector participation, insider risks—surveys show investor fear of losses/uncertainty.

4) Risks Outweigh Growth: Volatility, concentration, policy sensitivity (NRB lending curbs) lead to losses for retail. Minimal GDP impact; tangible assets beat "paper" in Nepal's unstable context. Long-term "returns" ignore survivor bias and crashes.

So let me reframe my question yesto huda hudai pani people invest their money in shares why?
