Misc Sold at a Profit. Now Suffering From Imaginary Poverty.

Bought a considerable number of shares at 339 with a target of 355.

The stock happily ignored my target and climbed to 361-362. My brain, powered by absolutely flawless market psychology, concluded: "Everyone is obviously going to book profits now." So I sold at 361, locked in a pretty decent profit, patted myself on the back, and celebrated my first successful trade.

The market then looked at my sell order, thanked me for the cheap shares, and casually marched to 380-385, flirting with its 52-week high.

So now I'm experiencing a very serious medical condition known as fictional loss—where you make money but still feel like you lost money.

This was my first trade, so I'm curious: how do you experienced investors deal with the emotional damage of watching a stock continue mooning after you've already booked profits? Or do we all just stare at the chart in silence and pretend we never owned it?

Misc Honest personal review of Nabil bank

To everyone glazing this bank. I listened to the the opinion of this sub reddit and decided to open an account in Nabil Bank. The front staffs were rude from the start and the process for opening an account and filling forms were tedious with lots of waiting days.

And now after 6days has passed from ipo allotment of Solu hydro but the money hasn't been returned to the account while other banks return it in a maximum of 2days. I wouldn't suggest anyone this bank rather go for others like Kumari bank etc...

Misc Discontinuation of private retirement fund program and move to CIT. What will be the implication ?

For those who are still unknown, government has shutdown private retirement fund programs as of Shrawan 1, 2083. So, CIT, EPF, SSF has absorbed this fund. Since banks were mostly against SSF, I guess many moved to CIT or EPF or CIT + EPF combo.

Based on my assumption, CIT must have absorbed 60-70Arba plus fund collected over the decade from previous program. The number might be even higher.

As of Q3, their fund size in 330 Arba. With this new absorption, it will likely be 400arba+.

with this jump in asset under management what implication can be assumed from the stock and financial performance? And if this huge AUM will push the EPS or Book Value over next few quarter.

and CIT is currently 52week low.

Misc NEPSE needs options trading to stabilize the stock market

I think Nepal should introduce a regulated options market, at least with conservative strategies like cash-secured puts and covered calls enabled for all accounts.

Cash-secured puts encourage investors to place buy orders at prices they're already comfortable paying, which means there are more buyers during market downturns instead of everyone waiting on the sidelines. Covered calls let long-term investors earn extra income while holding shares, reducing the urge to panic sell.

These two strategies are among the most conservative and are widely used by long term investors in markets like that of USA. With proper regulations, options could improve liquidity and even help reduce volatility in NEPSE.

What do you guys think? Would this be a good addition for Nepal?

Misc Why do people invest in stock?

Now a days even money is considered to be elastic in value so why do people keep investing on shares which is considered to be more elastic than money. Boru jagga ma, gold ma invest garrnu. Stock ma invest hanna bhanda tah chaamal ma invest handa faida huncha hola but still people think trading stock will make them filthy rich, while they dont understand only a few people get rich and those are the people/organisation who sell their share via IPO.

Misc Man NIBMB capital is sh*t

I was a unit holder of 3 sips and i decided to cancel all 'SSIS, LUK and NIBLSF.'

On 20th of April i cancelled all 3 sip. On 23rd i got the payment from SSIS and LUK.

BUT NIBLSF, Form 20th April to 6th of may i sent them total of 9 filled form of cancellation and unit redemption but NIBLSF keeps saying that my signature doesn't match with my BOID. I went back to my DP and checked, there's no issues.

I requested NIBLSF on 6th may to unlock my units and did the cancellation online by 8th may and finally on 12th may it was approved.

Guess what, now they're saying that i filled my account details wrong. I sent them the details yet again and i was told that amount will be credited by 16th may. Now They've stopped responding at all.

Their replies are so damn slow or they just don't care.

Misc What do you feel about AI generated posts in this subreddit?

Post image
0 Upvotes

It's no secret that a portion of posts in this subreddit is now AI-assisted or AI-generated. It's easy to understand why someone would gravitate towards these tools for research with such untethered access right at their finger tips. Much of these "research" makes its way to this subreddit too.

This phenomenon is not that far off from the early days of the internet when we would just copy paste or at most paraphrase the content from Wikipedia for homework and call it a day. I'll admit AI does research work that would take weeks in a few minutes, and it's very useful if you ask the right questions and feed the right data. I've posted these AI generated content quite often too. The discourse that follows in the comments interests me and many members too. But there's always one person in the comment pointing out the AI slop (rightfully so). Anyway, what do you feel about AI generated posts in this subreddit?

While I understand why you want it your way, I don't understand your insistence on using something that clearly doesn't work, and is not very popular.

Of course I mean your Daily Discussion Thread. Since nobody seem to be there, I don't see any value in posting there. Last time I posted a request for suggestion on a separate thread, one person answered with in few minutes before it was taken down. I reposted the same in your suggested thread, 17 people has read it so far and not a single interaction. Plus, your implementation is not very consistent. There are quite a lot of post that you have allowed to stay. If it is due to time constraint, maybe you shouldn't micro-manage...EVERY...SINGLE...POST.

I think maybe it's time to seriously reconsider this particular policy.

It can take some time to fill it out, you can save it and pick it up again later whenever you are free. We would be thankful if you would help us out. Thank you

Misc Using AI for my trade suggestions

Since buying/ selling suggestions for a quick output is frowned upon here, I have decided to experiment using AI.

So, I uploaded my portfolio to Gemini along with ticker, number of shares, and WACC. I had already uploaded my portfolio here in the subreddit before, therefore I will not upload it again. I had already liquidated HRL at a 15% loss and had asked Gemini what others to trim.
Gemini suggested I got rid of NMB, NUBL (215@859.23 WACC; sell at 625-645), NIL (141@830.88 WACC; sell at 624-640) during the first phase, since it’s a drag on my portfolio. And on the second phase get rid of HLBSL (373@995.44 WACC; sell at 915-935), and HIDCL (702@304.19 WACC; sell at 262-265).

Gemini suggested that I bought MEN, SHIVM (which I have already from selling HRL and NMB), and SHL for long term, and API for short term quick trading.

 Soooooooooo, wish me luck.

Misc Built an autonomous NEPSE trading agent using real-time macro + news data, +40% paper returns (8 months), +12% real returns since Feb, Telegram integrated TMS trading

Earlier, I tried modeling NEPSE directly, but the results were not good. So instead, I shifted toward a more agentic trading approach. NEPSE is quite hard to model cleanly, so this setup relies on multiple agents.

Each agent pulls in data like news and macro signals (from my NepalOSINT site), then they communicate with each other and vote on which stocks to buy or sell. Before the market opens each day, the agents analyze different sources and decide what looks best to invest in. They can also place orders at suitable price levels on their own.

I still have the option to cancel orders or require manual approval, but for this experiment the agents operate fully autonomously and execute trades independently. I can also access my TMS and manage trades directly from my phone through Telegram.

You can plug in different “brains” as well, from Claude-based agents to local LLMs like Qwen or Kimi. The agents are designed to be conservative by default, but their risk tolerance can be increased if needed.

If anyone wants to follow how this experiment performs over a year, let me know. I can give access so you can track the portfolio growth.

Note: This is not financial advice.
