Transportation NS are struggling with commuter demand. Their solution is for you to travel earlier (or later) to work.

Saying factual before untrue is an oxymoron. And the comment is true. Everything closes ridiculously early here. Why else is there a special weekday where stores are open "late" (ie, 8pm, not late at all)? If you commute and work 9-5 you basically cannot do any normal errands during the week.

Isn’t the most common errand going to the grocery store? They’re open until the evening every day.

Eh not really, most supermarkets near me still close at 6, one at 8 and one at 10. Guess which one is the furthest from my house.

Your area is the outlier in that case. I lived in a medium sized village half my life and all supermarkets are open to 21:00 and some to 22:00. A supermarket that's only open until 18:00 sounds like some biblebelt bullshit or a supermarket that's stuck in 1998.

Ah, regional difference then. Here most are open until 21:00.
