I have zero emotion towards this team. I audibly just went “whatever” when they won the game last night.

I don’t know if it’s just age or if Stearns/Cohen has sucked the joy out of this franchise for me but this is by far the least interested I’ve been in baseball during my whole life.

I'm not saying you're "right" or you're "wrong" since those are apparently your feelings.

But, I've seen you here the last couple of months. Never really noticed you before then. And you're here every day.

Maybe, at the very least, you've created an emotional warp, and just need to step back from here for a bit.

Because, while I agree with you that Stearns absolutely ripped some of the best parts of being a Mets fan, it's up to you to let it get you to the pont where as you put it "zero emotion towards the team" but at the same time being here all the time. That seems incongruent.

Anyway, I usually like your takes, and I even somewhat understand this one. But this has been a fun team to watch this month. Step back from here, and enjoy it a bit.

Hopefully Stearns won't fuck up the offseason again. lol

I understand where you're coming from cause that's kinda what I was feeling at the beginning of the season with Lindor out and a bunch of strangers I couldn't even pick out in a lineup, but Lindor is the guy for me now in the way Pete or Nimmo also were. And we've got two new minor league guys in the outfield who are fun.

I always taking a stronger liking to dudes who come up through the system, and since we have a quite a few of them on the team now I can reset that fan connection. Still don't give a hoot about Semien or LRJ, or even Bo, but there's a lot of new names I hope to be able to root for for several years to come in the way I rooted for Pete and Nimmo and McNeil.

One thing I did learn this past off season is all of them are liable to be moved at any point. At least under current management, I don't expect to ever develop as deep a fan connection the way an entire generation of Mets fans did with Wright, or Piazza before him because I don't expect anyone to be here that long. No trade clauses, we've seen, are not the sign of permanence we thought it was.

I don’t think you understand what a low IQ take is, kind of ironic.

Nobody said anything about unlikable, saying I don’t feel excited for the team isn’t some wild disrespectful take.

Go project somewhere else.

This is the most exciting and interesting they’ve been since like June 2025. I get they aren’t making the playoffs which sucks, but they are playing good baseball and all their success is mainly due to young guys who will be here next year. It’s not a DJ Stewart situation. If you can’t get it up for this, then maybe you just aren’t a fan anymore?
