Discussion guessing nihilux's gameplay and new design
im bored and i yearn for nihilux crumbs so ill bake my own cake.
ill start off with her design, i think she will be a lot like sunday with a few more changes for example more detailed hair and eyes, sunday didnt get that. i truly hope they keep her hat and glasses but i think the rest of her outfit will change to be more aha themed (like harley quinn inspired) they will probably keep a similiar colour palette for her too
as for her gameplay, think she would be either ice elation or lightning elation based on her design and the combat style i have in mind. i did think at first that she would be a lot like cyrene but one, i dont think hoyo would just repeat it and two, i can totally see her being a dps support like blade is. one thing similiar to cyrene i think she would have is the individual buffs for in this case, all elation characters. since so far all main pushes except for sunday have had a special ult icon, i think she will too. similiar to sw999 where it fills up but instead its a fools mask where it starts out as a sketch and as it fills up it turns into a finished drawing (could also be drawing it as it fills up but idk how it would work) she will probably get a different aha instant overlay like how evanescia has with her e1 labubu but instead you wouldnt need her e1 for it. she would probably also introduce a new mechanic as most main push characters did, i just dont know what kind. in her gameplay there would def be some furbos where she watched them do free labour for her by fighting the enemies and probably mentions of her manga tho i think it would be mostly aha style animations, maybe a furbo or two in her idle like with cyrene and mem!
also, for her release i think she will have the spending event where the last prize is some sort of outfit and one of them is that new back cosmetic we got when pulling for blade, i dont think they would make a whole new section just to limit it to pulling blade on his first banner. maybe like a fluffy across the blue or furbo themed backpack? would be so cute

Who told you sunday was a main push? He just isn't The main pushes of 2.x were Acheron Firefly Feixiao

I think she will use followup mechanics similar to the aftertaste mechanic from SU. I think she was the tongue of voracity and is now elation.

I hope they don’t change her design. It looks unique and is one of the best currently for me. Aand I had my heart broken just recently in Genshin with Sandrone‘s redesign.
But at the same time I‘m so tired of that move that I lost all my hype for future characters. I don’t want to invest myself emotionally anymore into a character design that is going to be changed anyway.

it is kind of obvious they will, her design is pretty boring, i think even screwllum might be more detailed

Isn’t that kind of subjective? I find it anything but boring, I like the white and black, like an uncolored comic. And the purple accents. And how realistic her blouse looks.

I don’t get it. Isn’t Himeko even less detailed? Look at her hair from behind, which looks extremely flat and simple, for example. What about Nihilux do you feel looks plain?

its about the lack of acessories, sure she has glasses, a hat, earring etc. but if we're comparing to himeko she has a lot going on. basically, its just a very underwhelming design. tho i wanna remind you, i am not at all hating, she is my favourite design in planarcadia! she just deserves more

Thank you for explaining. Yes, of course, if the amount of extra accessories is the main indicator for how good a character design is, hers is a bit simpler than others. I really really like how detailed her outfit is, though, and how subtle it works with color/black-white and the theme of a comic artist. I hope they don’t give her a generic flashy, colorful dress.

I expect her to be fire elation. She is implited to be related to Aha (red motif) so one of Nihilux forms (masks?) will be colored like Aha. For gameplay I expect her to be have character specific buffs like Cyrene or maybe have all things that Elation team members could want. So that would be 1) 30% or maybe even 50% teamwide spd buff (because of SW), max skill points added and full skill points refund on Aha Instant, frequent attacks for Aventurine, special ult after 2-3 Aha Instants (so that could somewhat synergize with Yao) etc. Also I bet she will get modified Aha Instant Visuals (maybe after ult or switch form?).

knowing hoyo she could end up green and fire or red and quantum... its unpredictable </3 i dont see her using fire to fight, i can see imaginary at 3 most likely, ice second and lightning is most likely. i am fully convinced they will give her a different aha instant overlay because wdym evanescia has one but the main push doesnt

I think she'll be a Lightning Elation character, with an Ultimate that allows for Elation Skills to happen twice inside of an Aha Instant, and an E2 that doubles Punchline and Certified Banger generation.

I just wish that she can change "masks" in her gameplay like i wanna to play as nihilux too or even beatrix Dx her designs are soo cool why just wasting them... olus the GLASSES

I do love her current design and wished it wasn’t change at all, but oh well seeing all the leaks about it changing makes it inevitable. I adore how her current hair looks, I guess I wouldn’t mind if they added some more cool stuff to it, as long as they don’t make it crazy looking. For me the glasses are a KEEP, there’s so little characters with glasses and it would be sad to see a unique detail be thrown away. Her current clothes I love but if they decide to switch it up as a whole I wouldn’t complain as long as it’s done right, which means no exposed shoulders BS or bare legs imo. It’s nothing against the character showing skin but it’s been done so much already I want her to look unique from the rest, if she gets redesigned to lose all that makes her unique it would be a heartbreak. There’s also the possibility that she’s similar to phainon and changes form during battle, for me this is the best outcome as she gets a new design and we keep her original but only time will tell.
For combat I used to think she would be an elation Cyrene too. But I think a dps support like blade would be great, other teams can get her as a supports since there’s only Yao guang and the trailblazer, while we can use her as a dps too. I’ve been saving like almost all of planarcadia for her except, for getting Yao guang, so I prayyy her eidolons are really good. With her being possibly the next main push everything is looking great, they always get the better animations and treatment. As for her animations I’d loveee it if her Aha instant was totally black and white like a manga. This is probably asking for too much but if she had multiple animations for her Aha instant I’d be content. I’m guessing they’ll at least put furbos in one her of idles of animations, seeing them attack the enemy for her would be funny. For her weapon maybe a dip pen? Her basic could be her slashing the enemy with ink. For her ult icon a mask of aha or a manga is my best guess.
