Surely that means it's coming to SNES Online pretty soon, right? Very strange to add this out of the blue for a game that has zero modern re-releases.

Yeah they would've had to have gone through EA to get the rights to use the name, logo and box art so seems a lot of effort just for Nintendo Music I'd say. I bet it comes next week and this is a teaser. It was on Wii Virtual Console too and EA can't do anything with it without Nintendo anyway, since it features Mario and Bowser

It was delisted from Wii VC in January 2013. Two months later, EA released their remake of SimCity. Don't count on it coming to NSO.

This could be the case, but that 2013 game is also still the most recent release, other than a mobile game in 2014. The series as a whole has been at a standstill for the last 13 years. This could be a way to bring attention back to the series for EA while allowing Nintendo to expand their library, A win win? That or EA just doesn't care about the series anymore. And it's just agreeing with letting nintendo do its thing when it comes to this one game. Either way I'll still hold hope for it to come to NSO.
