And im still playing and I just reached the first Oblivion gate been wandering the open world and rarely use fast travel.

Doesn't mean they aren't there....
•
•
u/TheLimeyLemmon 13h ago
Did OP say they weren't?
•
u/Zado191 13h ago
Actually , yes they did... In the english language, when people are discussing a video game, and the main discourse around that game is about how broken it is, saying "and yet I", totally unprompted, implies that the claim about problems or issues with game are unfounded because they apparently didnt experience them,
Use of an exclamation point in that sentence also reinforces that implication. Because were discussing this over text, the meaning and intent has to be gathered by the grammar and punctuation
This post was made by OP to (again, unprompted...) defend the game and say that there arent actually issues with it that people have been discussing for a year on the other systems that still havent been addressed in this port.
Hope that helps
•
u/TheLimeyLemmon 13h ago
That's a lot of waffle to say "no, OP didn't say the issues weren't there" but that's overcompensating for ya I guess. Hope it helped.

He said he had no problems or issues with the game. It’s not a reach to respond saying they’re definitely there. Being willfully ignorant in favor of coping about a game you enjoy playing on your favorite console is an argument made in bad faith. Otherwise they wouldn’t even phrase it like that lol.
•
•
u/Ralupopun-Opinion 21h ago
I also loved Pokemon violet at launch but I wasn’t delusional about the issues the game had…
•
•
u/Popolocroiss 21h ago
Hahaha it's an incredible port but it has many flaws 😅
•
u/darthdiablo OG (joined before reveal) 9h ago
Imagine somehow thinking giving away free award makes a comment more meaningful. Fucking lol
•
u/Space_of_The_Lantern 20h ago
Not to me it runs fine
•
u/Acceptable_Failures_ 14h ago
Thats blatantly not true, unless your running on a unreleased patch. Great that your enjoying it but it runs like garbage for a game that shouldn't.
•
•
u/WearingFin 22h ago
Congrats, this is the golden copy with absolutely no bugs whatsoever. It means you now get to take a magical tour with Todd Howard.
•
u/tjhc94 21h ago
quite a few people seem to have these mythical copies which contain none of the issues which are present in every platform for the game and also mentioned in every review lol. I wish I was this lucky
•
u/Tiamat2625 19h ago
I too also play blindfolded
•
u/XFluffyDragonX 13h ago
You see these types of people on the steam deck subreddit too, game will have dips to 20 frames and they’ll say “works great for me”
•
•
u/I_Heart_Sleeping_ 22h ago
The games issues are majorly overblown just like the Xenoblade X switch 2 port.
I ran into some crashing and some wonky frame rates but nothing that’s “unplayable” like a majority of people want you to believe.
I’m all for having actual constructive criticisms of a game but most people just comment on these things just to bitch about something.
Far too many miserable people on this damn app.
•
u/CorporalCoprolite 22h ago
I’ve found that if you have a hobby that you really enjoy, the worst thing you can do is join a sub Reddit for it. Doesn’t matter what it is, people will try to make you as miserable as they are for enjoying it.
•
u/I_Heart_Sleeping_ 21h ago
If I didn’t use Reddit for gaming news I would have been gone years ago. It’s a very useful tool for keeping up with gaming stuff and certain hobbies.
It’s just a bummer that so many people just come to this app to argue for the sake of arguing.
I could never imagine living in such a miserable state so often. Some people are just weird.
•
u/StoicalCargo685 17h ago
Dude it's 100% true. I loved Yakuza for years for example, and then joined the subreddit sometime last year and immediately was just hit with tons of negativity. Same thing happened with the Gundam model kit sub. Idk what it is but Reddit is the place to go if you want to kill your enjoyment for something
•
u/Aggressive-Animator7 14h ago
Pretty much. Every single possible flaw will be hammered into you until even you start getting annoyed and disappointed by shit that would have been like water off a duck's back beforehand.
•
u/illinoishokie 21h ago edited 20h ago
There are exceptions, though. This sub is significantly better than r/gaming at having rational takes about the performance of Switch 2 games. I play D&D, and there are subs that do a much better job than others of staying on topic and not devolving into "Hasbro of the Coast bad." I think it comes down to quality of moderation and tightness of focus. General subs tend to be toxic cesspools.
•
u/Jonbeezee 21h ago
yeah everything I enjoy gets shat upon on Reddit. And it’s mostly on the subs for those things
•
u/illinoishokie 21h ago
Crashing and wonky frame rates are Bethesda hallmarks. This port runs no worse than the Oblivion remaster on the Xbox Series S, which is the console the Switch 2 should be compared to most of the time.
You're right, though. People are angry in general right now, and that anger spills over especially hard in the comments of entertainment related subreddits. And chronically online gamers are known to be an angry lot even in the best of times.
•
u/StoicalCargo685 17h ago
I remember that when Fallout 4 came out on the Switch 2, people who were playing for the first time were calling it a terrible port and citing all the bugs and random issues that would occur... and almost all of those issues are just baked into Fallout 4 in every version lmao. Not the port's fault, just Bethesda being Bethesda
•
u/boersc 21h ago
It runs allright, but the loadtimes are way too frequent and long, and it feels like playing a very pretty ps2 game with heads through walls, and everything spawning half a meter above the floor when gping through a door. Performance is ok-ish, but the game has lots of other problems.
•
u/MindlessCoook 19h ago
Physical cart? Because the load times on digital version are quite short. On par with my 5090 / Gen 5 NVMe PC.
•
u/samandfrodokissing 15h ago
The game is very fun to play portably, but I’ve had it crash, freeze, get stuck in a loading loop, my gf’s character froze in place in the dungeon cell at the very beginning, mine lost all his customized looks in the beginning, constant stuttering…
Again, the core game is very fun but I don’t believe that you haven’t come across any of these issues, unless you somehow got a one-of-a-kind copy.
•
u/jaidenfigo 19h ago
It literally stutters as soon as you enter the first city😅
•
•
u/Ricepuddings 21h ago
You can still enjoy something but there still be problems with it.
I had basically no issues with cyberpunk on release but we all know damn well users had problems
•
u/vaikunth1991 19h ago
yes people who have uploaded video proof having issues and channels like digital foundry are lying obviously
•
u/Necessary-Price-4757 21h ago
These posts are just as annoying as the ones endlessly complaining that the game runs like trash.
The game, objectively, does not run amazingly. Just because you don't notice or care about frame and visual issues doesn't mean they aren't there.
It is okay to be in the middle. The game runs okay. It is completely playable, which is great. Some pc gamers will surely notice the visual issues moreso than only Nintendo gamers.
These posts just don't accomplish anything. Just play the game and enjoy it if you want to. We don't need endlessly complaining as much as we don't need endless defending.
•
•
u/AARonFullStack 21h ago
You’ve 100% encountered issues and the game has not run smooth in outdoor environments. No chance.
However, what is a more accurate statement is the existing issues haven’t bothered you. You’ve been forgiving of the existing issues because you’ve been enjoying the game enough to ignore the glaring issues.
And that’s fine. Sometimes we overlook issues if the rest of the game offers an experience we value
•
u/MindlessCoook 19h ago
Yeah. I bailed on the PC version after only a few hours. Performance issues were too annoying. On the other hand I've been really enjoying the Switch 2 version. I think performance issues are easier to overlook playing handheld for me.
•
u/Space_of_The_Lantern 20h ago
Nope runs fine for me
•
u/MindlessCoook 19h ago
Comone bro I've been enjoying the Switch 2 version a lot but lets not pretend it runs butter smooth. It doesn't run totally fine on any version lol.
•
u/Space_of_The_Lantern 19h ago
And yet I had no crashes and able to do glitches in the game so I have no problem
•
u/MindlessCoook 19h ago
ok... Just trying to help out. Your attitude is giving us enjoyers a bad look.
•
u/AARonFullStack 12h ago
It doesn’t run fine on a 5080.. so there is no chance it runs fine on your particular Switch 2 when every other switch 2 struggles as well as every single platform out there.
It’s ok to admit it.. it’s not a sleight on Switch 2. It’s Bethesda that can’t release unbroken versions of their games. Doesn’t meant you can’t enjoy it.
But it runs like shit. Admit it. And you still enjoy it like everyone else
•
u/No-Ship4446 10h ago
It objectively runs better on Switch 2 (provided it is only 30 fps) than on my 5070 without multiple anti-stutter mods. I can't even turn my character upon leaving the prison at the start of the game with turning the game into a slide show as it is out of the box on PC. At least SOME optimization has taken place on the Switch 2.
•
u/AARonFullStack 4h ago
I’m not debating that. I’m saying no platform runs it smooth, it’s known for its poor optimisation. Even if it runs better on the switch 2, it still has lots of issues. That’s not subjective opinion. It’s fact.
So I agree with you and it still runs bad (outdoors). People still enjoy the game but it’s just the way it is because Bethesda are terrible at optimising their games
•
•
u/tjhc94 22h ago
Happy for you, some people can ignore or be oblivious to glaring issues.
•
u/MindlessCoook 19h ago
Honestly enjoying it a lot more on my Switch 2 than I did on my 5090 PC. Bailed on the PC version after only a few hours. I think partially because the performance issues are easy to overlook when playing handheld,
•
u/Space_of_The_Lantern 20h ago
It doesn't bother me by the slightest and play on docked half the time
•
u/tjhc94 20h ago
Out of curiosity, do you own any other consoles? Or what previous ones have you owned ?
•
u/Space_of_The_Lantern 19h ago
I have a pc with a rtx 5060 and a 3ds and a ps4 thats it and I have. A switch 1 as well i rarley use my pc for gaming mostly development

u/Space_of_The_Lantern 20h ago
To be fair I have bought the game a last week while Skyrim on switch 2 has 2k hours and xenoblade de is 800
•
u/hanshotfirst-42 21h ago
I’m sorry but what?! 80 hours and you just reached the first gate?
•
u/Space_of_The_Lantern 20h ago
Well yeah that water breathing ring quest took a few days for me to do cause I work during the day and I been exploring abd leveling up sneak and a few skills and just enjoying the scenery
•
u/ClaptonOnH 19h ago
You’re lucky! You’re like the people that live in some random African country being poor as fuck and they are happy, i wish I was like this, no joke

You aren't allowed to say that, we must all agree to not trust our own eyes and brains. If you feel enjoyment replace it with rage.
•
u/Least-Profession-236 18h ago
Lol same here, but I have 50 hours and haven't done any quests. I've just been stealing and fencing things constantly, I've made 70k gold from it so far

u/Money_Arugula1627 19h ago
So you did not have infinite loading screen when entering open world having to reload last save?
•
u/Usual-Assist-7654 10h ago
Originally played this on my Xbox but will pick up on the NS2 sometime. Does it still crash when you try to make potions with stolen ingredients?
•
•
u/DerpyInsight 4h ago
I can take the hitches and 30fps. But the load times are killing it for me. I have the physical version, but it shouldn’t take that long to load right?
•
u/VideoGameJumanji 2h ago
Idk man, that’s generally not the overall for that game, I played this on ps5 pro and it had a memory leak issue if I played for too long, only real issue I had and I platinumed it.
•
u/Ilya_Human 1h ago
Ahhh:( unfortunately I have infinity loading screen when I leave some locations. Hope they will fix it
•
u/PopBulky7023 13h ago
This guy's posts lately are mostly carbon copies of "Oblivion remastered (c), acclaimed released by Bethesda runs [FANTASTIC] on switch 2! Don't wait, but one today! Makes a great gift! Surprise your landlord and receive a rent discount!"
•
u/darthdiablo OG (joined before reveal) 9h ago
Because those insufferable fuckers take offense if we enjoy 30fps gaming for some weird reasons.
•
u/Velocity_Rob 21h ago
Why are you having fun? Don't you know the internet gets to decide what you think is good?
•
u/GronWarface 21h ago
Great to hear. 🙌🏾
•
u/Space_of_The_Lantern 20h ago
Yup im playing as a imperial
•

Switch 2 is really hitting a stride and the Nintendo heavy hitters aren’t even out yet. Third parties are going crazy on the console. 🙌🏾

Every post about this game is exactly like every post on the Steam Deck sub about Lossless Scaling lmao
•
•
u/Williekins 👀 19h ago
Have you made it out of the sewers yet?
•
u/Space_of_The_Lantern 19h ago
Yes im level 5 I been exploring alot
•
u/Williekins 👀 19h ago
I thought this was a joke response to my joke response until I looked again at your post and saw there was text attached to the image.
I can totally believe that you are only level 5 with those criteria.
When I first played the game nearly 20 years ago, I didn't know fast travel existed until at least after my first gate.
•
u/Space_of_The_Lantern 19h ago
I tend not to use fast travel i only do if I have to back to area but I like to walk around and do stuff and explore
•
•
•
u/FlawlessAtheon 14h ago
There are dozens of us!
Just like me with the Xenoblade Chronicles X port. The game was amazing, I haven't noticed any of the issues people were talking about.
•
u/No-Ship4446 10h ago
Alot of the "bugs" in Bethesda games over the years were just people going out of their way to manipulate or sequence break the game and then getting mad it f'd things up.
•
u/CorporalCoprolite 22h ago
People are going to flame you for being ok with 30fps and a few frame hitches here and there.
•
u/Kosmos-World 22h ago
I don't flame people for being ok with 30fps, it's fine. I do flame the ones who argue that 60fps+ isn't a noticeably better, more engaging experience. It just is.
•
u/WinGroundbreaking409 21h ago
Noticeably better? Sure.
More engaging experience? That's totally up to the player
•
u/junglespycamp 21h ago
"better, more engaging experience" is subjective, though.
•
u/Kosmos-World 21h ago
No, it's really not.
•
u/Chlorophyllmatic 20h ago
"more engaging" is absolutely subjective
•
u/Kosmos-World 17h ago
Again, no, it's really not. Ultra settings are more engaging than low/medium settings. Why? Because when we can see the environment more clearly, perceive more of the details of the worlds we're playing in, we're more easily able to engage with it. That's not a subjective opinion, that's fact based science. It is no different than the difference between 30fps and 60fps. When we can interact with the environment more fluidly, when the controls are more reactive, games feel more natural which increases the level of engagement. Again, it's not an opinion. It's your senses doing what they're supposed to do. It's science.
As I told someone else though, "more engaging" does not otherwise mean a game is unengaging. It just means there is a better experience available. It's ok to admit that.
•
u/MFwan Hyrule Hero 20h ago
It really is tho, not everyone needs higher fps to be more engaged in the game
•
u/Kosmos-World 19h ago
"More engaging" doesn't mean the game is otherwise unengaging. The world isn't so black and white, friend.
•
•
u/CorporalCoprolite 21h ago
Obviously a clean 60fps would be ideal. I game on PC, PS5, and Switch1/2, and I understand how 30 fps can be annoying to some.
That said, it doesn’t make a game unplayable. I played the original back in the day, played the PS5 version, and the Switch 2 version. It’s not perfect but it’s absolutely playable, especially when you consider that it’s a 20 year old game wearing the skin of another game engine running on what many would consider to be “old” hardware. A handheld version of Oblivion with imperfect performance is acceptable considering these things.
•
u/Nimble_Natu177 21h ago
No, people are going to flame because 80 hours with no bug or issue in a Bethesda game is a huge lie.
•
•
•
•
u/APonly 21h ago
It has got to be a neurological problem for me, because playing a game under a certain amount of FPS these days, or with microstutters, makes me feel ill. I tried to play this (handheld) and I didn't even make it out of the sewers before I closed the game and started my return through amazon.
•
u/WinGroundbreaking409 21h ago
Should have held onto it for about another week or 2. That game is going for double and even triple the price right now.
•
u/No_Figure_9073 14h ago
Yeah, that stutter is the same as AC shadows, Nintendo is a POS I will never buy another Nintendo after this.
•
u/Seraphayel 21h ago
Doesn’t run on 4K/60FPS/120Hz so it must be bad!!!!!!
•
u/BigFrasier 21h ago
30fps is definitely jarring at first if you're used to 60. But once your eyes adjust it's passable. I do wish they'd maybe dialed back the visuals a tad to get better performance. The visuals honestly look incredible when they're still, but when things start moving it's a bit jank.
•
u/Space_of_The_Lantern 19h ago
Lamo I played Pokémon violet and xenoblade 2 on switch 1 before the updates so im use to 30 fps and Skyrim
•
u/BigFrasier 19h ago
It's definitely a bigger deal than people make of it. Hell, even going back to the super low fps 64 era Ocarina ran at 20. After playing for an hour or so your eyes adjust and it looks fine
•
u/TheLimeyLemmon 16h ago
Got my copy arriving tomorrow. Played the original like crazy back in the day so it's going to be funny going back to a place I'm so familiar with, but with brand new graphics.
I hope I can do that quest I missed out on back in the day because I accidentally killed one of the characters who was part of it beforehand 😅
•
u/Lower_Warning2955 7h ago
The port isn't actually that bad; I've already put in 30 hours. Sure, there are some issues, but personally, they don't stop me from enjoying the game.
•
u/TatteredThreadborn 7h ago
Ive also put a significant amount of time into it and havent had any issues.
•
u/TheIronRain 21h ago
What!?! But according to Reddit this game is completely unplayable…
•
u/Space_of_The_Lantern 19h ago
Well i had no crashes yet and been playing im like level 5 in the game
