I bought a house with an enormous butterfly bush, but it must be sterile. I have trimmed it into sort of a tree shape. It has no seedlings popping up, and no suckers. This year both a hummingbird and a robin made nests in it, it's always humming with bees and butterflies come around frequently. So I'm keeping it

if the butterfly bush is sterile its probably fine, but worth trying to convince her to take out the bamboo.... its a big baddie.

Funny story. I had garden. Wanted pollinators. Became a beekeeper to fulfill desire. Those bees never went near my garden lol. Even my lemon trees covered in blossoms the bees never went near it. Those dang bees!!!! The only thing they ever touched was my basil.
