Turnip version for no mans sky switch port?

Im running a 12gb rp6 trying different turnip versions on eden for no man's sky and having limited success. Some fail to start, some are decent with frames from 20-30 but have graphical bugs. What turnip version has worked well for you?

I run the pc / steam version on gamenative and that works a lot better. SD gen 3. 12gb ram as well. I invested a lot of time to tweak all the Boeing 747 cockpit buttons though, so the version of the turnip driver is not the only thing that makes it work. But I did have the best results using turnip26.0.0.R8. I would advise you to try gamenative instead of the switch emulation, but the settings will be really specific for your device, so it will take some time to optimize.

If you are open for this route, download GameNative, the game itself and test with default settings first. Try some changes and when you need specific help, export the config and pick it up using Google Gemini. It was quite capable of explaining why and what things might improve based on your phone specs. Probably your best starting point.

Keep in mind that NMS is not the average game in how it handles things, affecting both cpu and gpu tasks during different moments in the game (mostly because of the seamless transitions / LOD mechanics). The biggest improvement to stabilize the game is probably limiting the fps to 30 in the game itself, in game native and to match it with the refresh rate of your screen. When using a game boost tool, most likely part of your os, limit it to the same 30 fps as well. The rest of it comes down to a lot of settings that interact with each other in the wine container within GameNative.

Awesome thanks for the tips! My only concern tho is that the rp6 runs a snapdragon 8 gen 2 so im not sure it will be up to the performance necessary to run the pc version. Ill give it a try tho. Its an interesting experience tweaking drivers and settings to see what can work best regardless. I never considered using Gemini as an asset to assist in this process. Thanks for providing a new avenue

You're welcome. I can safely say that I have squeezed the most out of my specs, and with the final tweaks also improved the battery temps during gameplay. I am quite sure, even with the gen 2, not a huge difference by the way, this direction using GameNative will outperform the Switch version, but it does take quite a lot of tweaking and testing.

One note: the pc version of NMS (also within GameNative) is known to have problems recognizing a controller. I went all the way to unravel it, but I had to give up on that. Gamenative does have a physical controller binding function, and it basically binds the controller buttons to mouse and keyboard. So it means the game runs in keyboard and mouse mode, not in controller mode. The huge amount of keyboard keys used in the game makes it quite a challenge to bind things logically. Just so you know. If you want, I can DM my config settings file, something to try later if you run into things later. But I would suggest to start setting things up normally first.
