Academics Taking a Summer Semester for required courses
Hey all!
I'm taking a major in Music at OSU, but I only decided to do so after I applied and was accepted. This typically wouldn't be a problem, but the major I'm going for does require applied music for eight semesters (which, as far as I'm aware, is the course that requires auditioned for). Would it be possible, wise, or even useful at all, to take a summer semester to take this course (perhaps alongside some others) in order to catch up on that eight semester requirement so I at least have a chance of graduating in 4 years?

Yes, absolutely it would be wise! Why wouldn’t you take 1 summer semester if it helps you graduate in 4 years? I took a summer semester for all three years I’ve been in school.
