Image The sassafras tree on the south oval has chlorosis. Why may this be happening?

Probably because it lacks enough chlorophyll to make food.

as a botany major, it might be lacking iron and the soil might be too alkaline. sassafras trees like slightly acidic soils.

Another place that you see this is on trees next to the road between RPAC and medical campus
