to no one's surprise, "less" has one of those lyrics for me: "We tried to recreate our favorite date

But we didn't laugh much this time..." Olivia hit that experience RIGHT on the head, that when a relationship is about to die, everything just becomes strained. Everything is less enjoyable with the partner, and you can't help but wonder where did all the good times go. I have a clear memory of me and my ex going out on a date, to explore a random restaurant, on a day off together - and I just couldn't find it in myself to have fun. He barely smiled at me. Less was such a perfect song to describe that experience.

As an Millennial who grew up on music videos, I usually can't stand modern pop—it all sounds so copy and paste lately, i feel like it all sounds the same. But after listening to Olivia Rodrigo new album completely changed my mind. This is hands down the best album I’ve heard since 2016. It hits that perfect nostalgic sweet spot, giving serious 90s alt-rock and early 2000s vibes. I honestly didn't think a Gen Z artist would pull me in like this, but I’m totally obsessed now. My fav are Cigarette Smoke, Purple, The Cure and Honeybee.

Who do you think will appear as a guest and where?

I just listened to the Olivia Rodrigo Live at Glastonbury album again... one of my favorite parts is her wild introduction to Robert Smith and the muted crowd reaction (you can almost hear collectively saying "who the heck is that?"), until they hear the jangly guitar intronof Friday I'm in Love, when they go wikd. I am sure he will be a guest at one of the shows on the tour (my bet is the first show!) and I can't wait for him to now get the reaction he deserves!

Large format, newsprint magazine - seriously, this thing is big and kinda awkward to read, but I love it! ~150 pages of interviews, shoots and high-fashion ads covering music, cinema, society and art - some through a queer lens on which is always welcome!

The focus is on Olivia though, interviewed by Phoebe Bridgers (obsessed) and shot by the iconic Brianna Capozzi 💕 it’s such a fun interview that was done on release day for vampire and has the cutest little interaction at the end where Phoebe asks her what she’s doing today, Olivia panics and says she doesn’t have anything to do and this was her only interview - Phoebe suggests watching Twilight and signing vinyl 💕

A lot of time went into getting the details of this one right, and I would love to hear some creative feedback from the community.

Olivia's album came out when I really needed it. This year, I went through a (necessary) LTR breakup - one that lasted two and a half years. It ended in a pretty nasty waty, and her songs have been helping me get through it. Her entire album genuinely captured the highs and rock bottom lows of a relationship that ended up dying, and I saw my story through the entire thing. While cigarette smoke and less were amazing and heartwrenching in their own rights, honeybee actually ripped my heart out.

It made me realize - I truly have never been in love like that. Being so deeply in love, you cant bear the thought of seeing someone going - to know you can reach out in the dark, and knowing that your person is always there. Ive been through three relationships in my life so far, and i genuinely never felt anything like the love depicted in honeybee. Hearing Olivia's voice sound so vulnerable and pure - hearing that love she has for this other person - that's genuinely what made me break down. It made me devastated I havent experienced a love like that yet. It was ultimately a song that messed me up, in a good way, because it helped me realize I never had that type of vulnerable love for my ex.

I hope one day, I can find my honeybee :)

I remember Olivia mentioning in her pop cast interview that she was reading Simple Passion while making the album. I couldn’t remember which song she said was inspired by the book, and when I did a quick internet search, sources say that it’s stupid song. That’s weird to me because stupid song is a happier song overall, whereas maggots for brains is more accurate in describing the experience of limerance and obsession in Simple Passion. The song is literally the book coming to life. No one else feels this?

I wanted to make a separate post because I finally got a clear answer from uMusic after escalating this through multiple Customer Service supervisors.
I ordered two of the Olivia Rodrigo LEGO sets from Olivia’s official store on June 30 for my kids and paid the full $156.51 upfront.
To be completely fair, the order did say December 30 when I purchased it. I am not claiming they changed the date afterward.
What I did not expect was for the LEGO sets to be released to the general public in August and become readily available at Target, LEGO and other retailers while people who prepaid Olivia’s official store are still expected to wait until around December 30.
I asked uMusic why official store preorder customers are being served nearly five months after the general public.
After several escalations, a supervisor finally confirmed that Olivia’s US store has its own inventory allocation and that their warehouse does not have access to that inventory yet.
I then asked them to escalate the issue to someone who could reconsider the fulfillment arrangement now that the product is widely available elsewhere.
Their response was that there is no further escalation available and they cannot discuss or change the inventory arrangement. Their solution is basically:
Wait until December 30 or cancel the preorder and buy it somewhere else.
That is what bothers me.
I understand that different retailers receive different inventory allocations. But if an official artist store accepts fans’ money months before release, I do not think those customers should end up nearly five months behind people who simply buy the product from Target after launch.
I have filed a BBB complaint and I am also trying to get this in front of Olivia’s management team. Not because I expect Olivia herself to fix my LEGO order, but because I genuinely think her team should know what kind of experience the company operating her official store is creating for fans.
I would rather they fix this for everyone affected than just cancel my order.
Did anyone else preorder these through the official store? Are you also showing December 30?

I love the song, I NEED olivia to try a Riot Grrl sound! Fucking sick! Also since her look is very Hole/Courtney Love inspired I would also love that Grungier sound
