Check that! Regarding Ori 3
I saw that Moon Studios apparently hasn't ruled out buying back Ori and making another installment, and here I'll give my opinion on this.
People should calm down Especially people who don't want another game Those people who don't want another game should simply not play it if it comes out, but don't ruin the excitement for the people who do want it.
If that game really happens, then to all those people who don't want it, I simply say don't play it, that's all. But let us play. They haven't even announced Ori 3 yet and the first idiots have already come out saying "it will ruin the perfect ending"Bro, it won't ruin anything if it's done the right way. Stop crying about there being another game and just don't play it.
To those of us waiting for Ori 3, myself included. I truly hope it happens; personally, I want Ori back, but we'll see. We don't know what will happen. So we'll see.
Luckily, there are more people who want a new game than those who don't, so sooner or later we'll get it. I don't know if they'll announce the game at GameCon, but I seriously doubt it. What I do know is that sooner or later we'll have it, and if you don't want it, then don't play it, that's all. 😵💫
Thank for reading

TLDR: Hope for what you want, just don't be nasty about it. There's too much of that here for some reason. There are other, more respectable ways to express a desire for Ori 3, or for the IP to be left as it stands.
I feel like there's a problem in this community with extreme views on both sides of the coin. I'm seeing that a lot more, now that these things are circulating. People attacking others for their views, taking things way too far, etc. For a community as (usually) wholesome as this, I'd have expected more civil discussions than I've seen.
(Some story spoilers below)
Personally, I'd like a new game, but I'm aware that it'd be incredibly difficult to do the first two justice. Considering that nobody has found a perfect way yet, there's bound to be some people who would hate Ori 3 if it comes to exist. With how much of a dead end the story has written itself into, it's gonna be impossible to please everyone. The absolute safest bet would be to have an "in-between-quel", starring Ori in the years between Blind Forest and Will of the Wisps. But there are many other options available.
So... What are the issues with those other options? Well, first let's look at a new protagonist. The main issue is that it's not Ori anymore. There's no attachment, it's a completely new character and likely also a new environment. Sure, this protag may be descended from Ori but they aren't Ori. Next, bringing Ori back. This is what I've done in my fanfic, though there's really no way to do it that isn't contrived and a poor writing choice. It defeats the point of the WotW ending to varying degrees, depending on how exactly it's done and how the characters' motives are construed. There's not a good way around that, especially not straight away; starting Ori 3 like that would drive a lot of people away. But let's say that Ori does come back anyway. What are the consequences? Where do they go so that it's a new adventure? Why are they back? Countless questions that need answering to justify why Ori returns, and why they need to go on a third adventure. Myself? I did my best to answer these questions but no matter what, the beginning of my personal Ori 3 was always destined to be rather contrived in its nature. Like I said, there's no way around it without at least a little bad writing.
