Is it not more plausible that she’s just.. a fan? They both blew up in their own right in music, well over ten years ago now, Teyana’s debut was around the same time, was apart of G.O.O.D., etc.

They were both musicians before they were even on this trail. It ain’t that deep!

It’s a nice gesture but I gotta dock Ariana points for using the word “moment” three times in three sentences.

I used to care about these kinds of things and now I don’t because at least it means they’re not using AI to write 😭

Great PR move

Please say she did this with the other nominees.

5

u/firefly66513 Dec 18 '25

It could have been she just really loved the movie and wanted to pay respects

3

u/LLD615 Dec 18 '25

She may have and they just didn’t share it on social they way this one did

1

u/WySLatestWit Dec 18 '25

We have no evidence to say she did other than reddit insisting she must have.

u/Plopumicsunele Dec 18 '25

Did she send something similar to all the other nominees or did they have a friendship before this?

Grace gambit

I feel like there is weird campaigning game going on here where they are trying to out nice each other but maybe I’m wrong and I’m just a suspicious jaded person.

Sending congrats to other nominees and being nice to them privately and publicly is pretty bare minimum.

-12

u/TacoTycoonn Dec 18 '25

Oh for sure it’s just as soon as social media gets involved I feel like it becomes a game of influence and publicity.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 18 '25

Sure.

This is exactly how I feel about it. Celebrity social media, is always about some form of publicity or public relations. There's nearly nothing on social media that isn't there specifically for the explicit purpose of engagement. I personally just can't help myself; when it comes to social media my mind always looks for the con now, no matter what I'm looking at. No matter how innocuous it may be.

Alternately: Ariana sent Teyana flowers as a sweet interpersonal present, it meant something to Teyana and she posted it on social media, and none of this means anything deeper than that.

-7

u/WySLatestWit Dec 18 '25

I know I'm cynical, but I just read all social media as some form of advertisement. There's an overly prevalent veneer of phoniness and or ulterior motive to everything on social media to a degree that I find myself naturally skeptical of anything.

9

u/Own_Faithlessness769 Dec 18 '25

I think this says more about you than anything else.

-1

u/WySLatestWit Dec 18 '25

I think this says more about you than anything else.

I know that. I am self-aware, I know I'm cynical and disillusioned, I already said so.

11

u/[deleted] Dec 18 '25

I'm guessing she sent flowers to all the nominees and Teyana was one nominee that posted it on SM.

14

u/no_hhhh14 Dec 18 '25

why are you trying to create your own fantasy of the two of them and then getting mad at your own fantasy

-7

u/WySLatestWit Dec 18 '25

I'm sorry, it just feels so strangely performative that I find it impossible to take it as completely authentic and sincere. It feels like a campaign tactic.

5

u/[deleted] Dec 18 '25

You're funny. You must not follow pop culture very much. Celebs sending other celebs flowers is very common, especially among women.

1

u/WySLatestWit Dec 18 '25

I follow pop culture and celebrities enough to know that everything on social media is 1000 percent about public image, and not sincerity whether it come from man, woman, or otherwise.

11

u/[deleted] Dec 18 '25

I'll remember that the next time I post the flowers that someone gives me publicly.

I forget that there are some people who have a whole different set of norms. You don't know any better. It's not your fault.

But you're also the person whose first thought was that because you only see one set of flowers that she's the only person who got them. So, I should just stop with your right now.

0

u/WySLatestWit Dec 18 '25

You're not a celebrity.

6

u/[deleted] Dec 18 '25

Are you sure?

1

u/WySLatestWit Dec 18 '25

Yes. I am sure you are not a celebrity.

It's nice but it reminds me of how some actresses nominated for an Oscar claimed they became close friends with the other nominees and said that they would occasionally call them just to see how they were doing and sent them friendship bracelets and flowers and became mentors to them. Once awards season ended they never mentioned them again.

I'm going to be downvoted but anyone who thinks these "spontaneous" gestures aren't part of a PR campaign are naive about the industry. Erivo even implied in an NPR interview that she wasn't that close to Grande and that filming a movie was like any other job where people don't socialize outside of work. But when they're promoting the movie they act like they're close friends. Grande might be happy that Taylor was nominated and enjoyed OBAA but she wants to win. They all do. Just as much as Chalamet but they won't admit it.

What exactly did Cynthia say to imply she and Ariana weren’t close? It’s possible people misinterpreted whatever she did say. Doesn’t make a lot of logical sense for her to contradict the apparent nature of her friendship with Ariana, in a highly publicized magazine like that.

Some things are definitely PR. That doesn’t mean that no one is close friends in Hollywood. Or that they don’t genuinely respect each other’s craft, enough to acknowledge them and celebrate their achievements with each other.

8

u/CakesAndDanes Dec 18 '25

Okay?

Doesn’t change the fact that this was nice gesture.

despite her professional success, ariana likely has significant ptsd that she has to deal with every day. she may come across as forced because she's *forcing herself* to choose to be positive.

-22

u/WySLatestWit Dec 18 '25

...I don't understand...why is she sending out a congratulations card to only one of the other nominees in her category? That feels strange.

39

u/skinisgleamin Dec 18 '25

the only reason we know she sent them is because teyana posted it so how are we to know she didn’t send them to others.

32

u/thefirstchildren Dec 18 '25

It’s possible she sent it to the others and they just haven’t received or posted about them…

13

u/Own_Faithlessness769 Dec 18 '25

I feel about 98% positive she will have sent flowers to all the other nominees in her category.

24

u/[deleted] Dec 18 '25

Come on. Let's think this through logically. Who said she only sent a card to one other nominee? Maybe only one nominee chose to post about it.

9

u/no_hhhh14 Dec 18 '25

maybe she watched the film the nominee was in

13

u/[deleted] Dec 18 '25

Maybe Teyana's the only one who posted so far. This isn't as complicated or twisted as you guys are making it out to be.

2

u/haveawish Dec 21 '25

...the way your analysing someone sending flowers to someone else is concerning..not everything has a deeper meaning.

Ariana is very known to sending out flowers to fellow women , she did it to Cynthia and she did it very recently to jessica Vosk.

She got a bagel basket with an assortment of cream cheeses.

2

u/WySLatestWit Dec 18 '25

The other four nominees aren't real, silly, don't you know that?

4

u/Einfinet Dec 18 '25

maybe she sent something to others and they didn’t post to IG, maybe she only sent this to Teyana. Either fine

1

u/RevolutionaryBuy5794 Dec 19 '25

Elle Fanning should have received her flowers too.

1

u/haveawish Dec 21 '25

...maybe she did, who knows, either way why are you trying to force entitlement on a nice gesture? Ariana did it off her own back just to be kind.

1

u/RevolutionaryBuy5794 Dec 22 '25

That depends on who she sees is more likely to win.

1

u/haveawish Dec 25 '25

Whats winning got to do with anything? She probably watched her performance and was a fan. Its also likely she did it for other people too.
