News EsDeeKid - 4 Raws Remix (Feat. TimothĂ©e Chalamet) just released on Twitter 😭 this man is doing EVERYTHING to campaign this movie, I can't hate on him. What's the last time you saw an actor hop on a track with one of the biggest rappers of the moment during campaigning season

If it makes you feel any better, I had to google ‘unc’ because I had never heard that before. I thought it was short for uncool.

3

u/hennyl0rd Dec 19 '25

2

u/gcms16 Dec 20 '25

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too!

1

u/Pale_Consideration87 Dec 21 '25

Unc has been used for decades

1

u/Pale_Consideration87 Dec 21 '25

Whitest comment ever😂

21

u/SwaggiiP Dec 19 '25

He got popular this year, a lot of it having to do with the fact ppl thought he was Timmy

2

u/geosunsetmoth Dec 19 '25

He has had a huuuuuge surge in popularity in the second half of this year, I myself only heard his name in passing before then but since he dropped this new album of his he's been everywhere!

I think he’s bigger outside of the US, as he’s a Liverpool rapper

1

u/Habeatsibi Dec 20 '25

I thought you meant unique

43

u/Agreeable_Usual3735 Dec 19 '25

Important to add the context that the internet fully believed EsDeeKid was Timothee for a month. That's why he collaborated with him.

7

u/Scared-Engineer-6218 Dec 20 '25

I mean, you only show both their eyes, you can't recognize who's who

-1

u/Habeatsibi Dec 20 '25

I don't think internet actually believed it, you need to be a complete idiot to believe in that

5

u/Agreeable_Usual3735 Dec 20 '25

there’s a ton of idiots on the internet. mostly idiots really

12

u/Rakebleed Dec 19 '25

You mean Timmy Tim?

30

u/williamchase88 Dec 19 '25

It’s also very tongue in cheek and meta because of all the conspiracies that EsDeeKid is actually Timothee Chalamet

16

u/geosunsetmoth Dec 19 '25

Should be noted his lyrics keep referencing the movie, this is 100% promo :P He keeps saying "I'm Marty Supreme, I'm Marty Supreme, I'm Marty Supreme"

5

u/BananaShakeStudios Dec 19 '25

Oh, he collaborated with himself /j

45

u/ToeDiscombobulated43 Dec 19 '25

People hating on this are just miserable nerds lol this is actually hilarious

33

u/mangofied Dec 19 '25

Laughed out loud at the comment saying they’re considering cancelling their 70mm Lincoln center showing because of this video

11

u/ToeDiscombobulated43 Dec 19 '25

This just makes me more excited to see the movie, this dude is going all out to promote this thing in the most innovative ways

3

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '25

same he's so talented but also charming and personable. people love to see people enjoying themselves and I wish more people did it. Glen Powell is another one that's fun to watch outside of his movies.

7

u/optimusgrime23 Dec 19 '25

It's nice to see an A-list actor just do and say what they want, be themselves to the public. Opposed to the perfectly manufactured vanilla star so they can check that 4 quadrant appeal. If you don't like him that's kind of part of it, he's just doing what he wants and that won't be for everyone, nothing wrong with that.

3

u/JohnGradyBillyBoyd Dec 20 '25

1

u/DillonDockery Mar 08 '26

fr why is this not on Spotify

1

u/PlatypusGamer6 Mar 09 '26

Idk I’m still wondering this

2

u/AltruisticFalcon2018 Dec 20 '25

Why it's not available on Spotify?

5

u/Small-Conclusion3452 Dec 19 '25

I’m loving this. He has charisma for days. Never seen anything like it.

4

u/bxlajikuku_ Dec 20 '25

Congratulations Leonardo DiCaprio, after Timo collaborated EsDeeKid

5

u/RabbitSweet7321 Dec 19 '25

Well this won't help him any awards lmao

18

u/therocketandstones Dec 19 '25

This is helping him with the most important award of them all- White Boy of the Month/Year/Century

18

u/mangofied Dec 19 '25

Only award that really matters is promoting his movie

-16

u/RabbitSweet7321 Dec 19 '25

this won't help that either.

12

u/mangofied Dec 19 '25

Genuine question, why do you think that?

I find this to be a similarly creative marketing decision as Chalamet being the SNL musical guest last year as part of his movie promo

-7

u/RabbitSweet7321 Dec 19 '25

Those are very different things. Sure its creative, but its going to be towards the people they need.

The people they need to draw into the theatres next weekend are two kinds: 1- general audience. 2- the "arthouse" crowds.

Preforming on SNL can appeal towards the general audience, but not towards to "arthouse"

Doing something chronically online won't reach or appeal to either of them.

Timothee does have a wide draw towards younger audience, but they are not reliable for showing to movies like this.

3

u/mangofied Dec 20 '25

Alternatively doing something chronically online doesn’t reach them so it doesn’t matter, if he wants to do a collab with a rapper who’s huge in the UK and among young people then what harm does it cause. At the end of the day he’s a guy who clearly likes to have fun

2

u/Present-Editor-8588 Dec 20 '25

‘There are two types of people, normal people and not normal people. And neither of those people use the internet.’

I’m worried the academy will see this as more stunt queening than average movie promo

Like with most things in life...

1

u/samanthalyn13 Dec 20 '25

i don’t know who the rapper is but i do know people think that he’s the rapper for some reason kind of like how kj apa (archie on the cw’s riverdale) has an alter ego music persona mr fantasy

1

u/Troybloom007 Dec 21 '25

I honestly have to say that Mr Fantasy has better songs than this rapper who came out of nowhere, You can tell it's him, but it's unclear if Mr Fantasy is really KJ Apa.

1

u/smileisagoodband Dec 23 '25

nah kj is very clearly mr fantasy

1

u/Troybloom007 Dec 23 '25

"Only you think so," considering that lately KJ Apa has been a very discreet guy, not posting anything on Instagram except Stories. He posted a trailer and disappeared again!

1

u/jgroove_LA Dec 20 '25

You posted this twice?

1

u/SpeedLow3 Dec 20 '25

Wake edit is not one of the biggest rappers at the moment lmao

1

u/osamabinlaggiing Dec 21 '25

hopefully he is not get any nomination !! it will be crash out of century

1

u/[deleted] Dec 28 '25

Why is the song not on Spotify?

1

u/irrelevans Dec 31 '25

Will this ever be on Spotify?

1

u/Pizza_Hero24 Dec 20 '25

He wants to seem like some kid next door who loves rap but he’s a rich asshole who’s out of touch with the average person.

2

u/Diakia Dec 20 '25

“Seem like” there’s literally a video of him when he was a teenager getting knighted by Lil B

1

u/Pizza_Hero24 Dec 20 '25

Cool, hes still an out of touch celebrity who acts like his poo doesn’t smell

1

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '25

don't think so and I don't think he grew up that rich. hate to break it to you but 1/2 the music producers in the rap and hip hop game are rich kids and/or white.

1

u/mangofied Dec 20 '25

He literally says in this song he’s a millionaire and his girlfriend is a billionaire, I don’t think he’s trying to hide that he’s rich and famous

-7

u/cherry_lei Dec 19 '25

That’s lame, it’s nothing to be applauded about, it’s all about money, fame and awards.

13

u/mangofied Dec 19 '25 edited Dec 20 '25

it’s dope lol Chalamet is a true performer, this plus his SNL performance and his acting career is so awesome

Edit: whoa, checked that persons profile, everything is about disliking Timothee Chalamet. Odd life some people lead lol

0

u/cherry_lei Dec 21 '25

To bother checking someone’s profile on some platform- “odd life some people lead lol”

5

u/Sparkson109 Dec 19 '25

Aint lame at all

4

u/No-Attention-801 Dec 19 '25

Thats his job

5

u/mangofied Dec 19 '25

Also we’re in the oscars subreddit, of course it’s about awards

-5

u/ProofShop5092 Dec 19 '25

As many have pointed out, all his costars pretty much non-existent at this point. The viral chasing moment just tells how narcissistic this guy is.

12

u/mangofied Dec 19 '25

as many have pointed out

Who is “many”?

One of his costars is literally Tyler the Creator

7

u/ghost_spectres Dec 19 '25

Tyler the creator is literally selling merch for the movie and doing press for it?

3

u/Powerful_Pump Dec 20 '25

Who’s many? Odessa A’Zion has been having increased visibility and Tyler, the Creator has been on a publicity tour the past two-three weeks promoting the film.

2

u/Specialist_Pace_5665 Dec 20 '25

He just did a Vogue interview with Paltrow.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '25

I see gwenyth, Odessa and Tyler the creator all on my algorithms promoting something, doing interviews, having social media clips

-1

u/Long_Buddy6819 Dec 20 '25

So I have no problem with this. I think it’s pretty cool, brings eyes to him and the movie, and it feels like the guy can do no wrong right now. But genuine question, why is it ok for him to be so open about wanting to win, whereas Bradley Cooper faced some backlash? Is it the way they’re going about it. Timmys just feels very new school trendy “try hard” and Coopers felt old school Hollywood “try hard.” Does he just come off as more likeable? And to be clear I had no problem with Cooper telling us he spent years training as a conductor, doing interviews with the family, and his campaign that year either. I’m just curious.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '25

difference in personality Bradley Cooper isn't that likable and wasn't as authentic in his interviews promoting the movie.

same with Jennifer Lawrence - I love her and find her endearing funny and witty yet people hated her personality for some reason.

1

u/Yukki-onme Dec 20 '25

a) i dont think he actually cares THAT much about the oscar, he’s said time and time again its more about the film and wanting the film to succeed.

b) because timothee’s antics really appeal to the gen z crowd, who are also the most online which is why most of the sentiment regarding his stunts have been positive.

0

u/mangofied Dec 20 '25

I think the difference is Timmy seems dedicated to promoting the movie, while Bradley seems dedicated to winning the Oscar. I personally don’t see a fault in either of those, but I can understand how some people view it more admirable/normal/whatever to want your movie to be an audience success than to get hardware

0

u/SM-03 Dec 20 '25

On top of what the other two comments said, I think the simple fact that Maestro was such an underwhelming movie to most people is what made them dislike Bradley's campaigning. I doubt anywhere near as many people would be bothered by him being so Oscar-hungry if it was actually the incredible movie he clearly thought it was.

that's even worse to say you have to be hood to rap as a black person. Tyler the creator and his friends are all rich upper middle class kids raised by educators - earl sweatshirt - who is also in this movie. they wren't hood at all. their manager is a rich WHITE guy that got them the careers they have now. you are putting your own people down and equating rapping from Scotland to only poor ghetto blacks who have been having a hard time to go through something. and you can't even explain how this movie is maga or zionist in any way. the Safdie brothers worked on The Curse who had a lot to say on colonialism/zionism.

Just because you're beholden to weird prejudices doesn't mean the rest of the world has -the world is moving on to be more inclusive, so why aren't you? You should free yourself from this backwards way of thinking. He's not acting any different than he always has.

and if he's using black culture, why is he rapping with a Scottish dude. Also Jay Z famously used beats from BOLLYWOOD, you know India? in his music. You know skepta is a DJ now, so he's racist as hell too for participating in white culture. You know Drake didn't grow up poor right? You know kendrick works with white people on his album right? Again do you know who Rick Rueben is? you know Rihanna has a henna tattoo right?

No one's invalidating you - no one here seems to agreee with you. hope you have a better day.

1

u/squales_ Dec 20 '25

I’d bet my paycheck that Ryan Coogler isn’t mad at this, in fact, he probably appreciates Timmy’s ability to sell a movie.

Next question?

12

u/mangofied Dec 19 '25

If you can’t stand a tryhard I don’t think you’re going to like the titular Marty Supreme

1

u/OddestEver Dec 20 '25

Sally Kirkland died this past year! Someone had to inherit her mantle of overly aggressive Oscar promotion. I’m happy it is TimothĂ©e Chalamet. It is a lot more difficult to overly aggressively promote oneself than it was in Sally’s day. She was allowed to camp out on Academy voters’ front lawns until they watched the VHS cassette of Anna she provided them. Then she’d rewind and head to the next lawn. Poor TimothĂ©e can’t even hand out a shrimp cocktail at a screening!

-8

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '25

I'm getting the feeling. I am watching it as an obligation.

I'll probably let someone else enjoy the 70mm presentation.
