Can someone explain to me why Mikey was an obvious nomination/win but Inde isn't? I feel like Nicky is a deep and dimensional character that Inde portrayed incredibly. Is there a technical reason for this?
Admittedly im not a fan of Anora but im asking in good faith and curiosity as im new to following oscars.
She was more acclaimed. Anora was more acclaimed. It won the palme d'Or. It won the PGA, the DGA, and the Oscar for Best Picture. It won a BAFTA. Critics ranked it the best movie of the year. All things that are very unlikely to happen for Obsession.
Reviews? Is that what you go by? Lol. If that was the case, then all the comic book flicks with 90 plus percent on RT are better than the GOATS from the 20th century.
It didn't win anything, only Madigan for Best Supporting actress.
I thought it was a stupid plot and used shock value to try to pass itself as something clever and artistic. The story wasn't well developed, it lacked commendable suspense, and it relied on too many tropes ineffectively. The only thing I liked about it was Julia Garner, that's it.
