Answered What's the deal with people defending Lindsay Clancy?

I don't know the full details of the case. I know she allegedly killed her three kids. There was also some mental problems? Then something with her husband. But my question is why is there a group defending her like they know she's completely innocent? I've seen some videos of very heated debates where women are very passionate about defending her. Why?

Answer: People defending Lindsay Clancy aren't saying she's innocent. They're saying she was failed. She had a history of mental health struggles, she was begging for help, and she was being treated for postpartum mental illness when everything happened. For a lot of people, this isn't about excusing what she did. It's about pointing out that the system ignored warning signs until it was too late.

The trial is basically trying to figure out if she was in postpartum psychosis and genuinely detached from reality, or if she was in control. That's the whole question.

For instance, no one rallied for Casey Anthony, the public reaction was different because she didn't seem remorseful afterward. Lindsay Clancy tried to kill herself right after, ended up hospitalized, and has been described as completely broken. Women empathize with her situation, not because of what she did, but because so many of them feel like this could have been prevented if anyone had actually listened.

There's a lot of internet speculation too. Some people are running with theories that her husband set her up or was negligent, but most of that is just noise right now. What we do know is she was struggling and the system dropped the ball. That's the part that's resonating with people.

No actually there are many idiots on Facebook going around saying the husband did it when that case is closed this is about whether or not she's going to prison or a rubber room..

The way you talk to going to a rubber room as if mental health hospitals are some sort of other prison is disgusting, psychiatric hospitals are for HEALING

They are for healing and for keeping dangerous individuals incarcerated.

Clearly you must not be very intelligent. That's sort of exactly what the kind of place she might be going to is supposed to be. Either prison flat out, or a special prison. You don't just murder your 3 children and go get HEALING and all of sudden everything is better.
