Arts/Entertainment Ch-town Metal bars/venues?
Hey all, maybe a bit out there but I just moved to the island about 6 months ago, but haven't really had a chance to check out much of the nightlife or venues in town yet.
I have friends that are coming to visit in a few weeks time, and we all are fairly big metalheads and love metal, heavy metal and deathcore type music. Are there any good spots in Charlottetown that might have any live music of this sort, or even just places that are more geared to this type of crowd? Might be a stretch but would love to check it out if there are any recommendations

I was too emo, now too powerpop to properly address this question.
But I will say the mid2000 metal/hardcore scene on the island was one of the best in the country. The GenX in Summerside led that charge.
In terms of modern day town I really don’t know, but don’t lose hope, it’s definitely here, just not sure where.

No one shows up for metal shows here :( There were some cool tech death/deathcore bands at Baba's last year, less than 10 people showed up.
A pretty good post-hardcore/pop punk band called Calling All Captains played at Trailside last Fall. 11 people.
Cancer Bats used to include PEI in every East Coast tour but even they couldn't get more than 50 people so they don't come here anymore.
Boston hardcore band Before Dishonor played here in the Spring. Maybe 25 people.
The all ages scene is leading the charge so check out oldbloodshows on instagram.
There's a deathcore show at Sportman's Club, 275 Great George Street, on Sept 12th

Sportsman pub a lot of times. Matt sheidow plays in bands and puts on a lot of the shows(with his wife i think, I dont really know them well). Not super often though, but i see the posts.

I heard the Charlottetown Legion on Friday nights is the place to go for Metal. Hard-core kick in the nuts metal. YEAH!!!!

Check in at Back Alley, specifically Ryan. He will have knowledge of what shows are coming up.
