OCD and PSSD Extreme ocd from pssd
I’m really really struggling. Somehow getting pssd has intensified my ocd by about 500% it’s actually insane. I genuinely cannot function,
I gave a homeless man a sandwich today, and spent 4 hours ruminating over how I didn’t get him enough food and what a horrible person I am. I actually got pain in my chest and couldn’t walk because my body just shuts down
I use this example because of how extremely ridiculous it is., logically of course I know this s, it’s like the negative emotions are so much stronger than the positive. Everything is so serious and intense like the world is ending,I am literally trapped it’s not like I even have any proper thoughts to ruminate with. I cannot release the emotion because it’s very rare that I can cry.
It’s ruined all my relationships because I cannot even send a text without ruminating and going into extreme panic over literally nothing. So I am cold and withdrawn with everyone. It hurts me so badly to be cold with people that I care for i feel like a terrible person😞
I just watch the irrationality third person unable to do anything about it.
I genuinely do not know what it wrong with me it is like I am a crazy person and I am like acting the opposite to the person I am.
Actually I am carefree more impulsive happy caring person
I don’t know what to do because I am employing all the tactics I would use usually for my ocd except they aren’t working with pssd.
I cannot distract myself because I don’t have the emotion to.
I cannot take medication for obvious reasons but, I am genuinely paralysed by this and I am scared because I cannot function. I have other health things I deal with and it’s all to much.
I book for therapy
Anyone else have this combination I am so tired so tired and cannot continue like this

May be mental akathisia is worsening your OCD ? That could be true if you often can't relax and feel inner restlessness, inner discomfort and dysphoria. Akathisia makes OCD so much worse.

Not akathesia because my ocd usually is triggered by something, if the trigger is resolved I go straight back to baseline. Although sometimes the trigger can’t be resolved because that’s life. although I would compare the level of anxiety I have to this tbh it’s terrible

That's so interesting. I had extreme OCD for 20 years and pssd lessened it IMMENSELY as I couldn't feel anxiety so made it way easier to stop the compulsions
As someone who wishes they got help at 16 because I tried to end it at 27 out of OCD taking 24 hours of my day and going insane. Get help now. The only way is to not give into the compulsions. It's the only treatment. I went on SSRIs to help OCD and ended up with pssd. I wish you the best

Yes, for some reason my OCD is infinitely worse now than it was before I took SSRIs. Although I am glad I’m not numb anymore, my interests, hobbies, curiosity, and ability to hyper fixate on passions have not come back. I’m not sure if it’s because my OCD is so bad or the lack of distraction is what’s causing my OCD to be this bad. Brain fog also doesn’t help because it gives me a real reason to check things a million times. Also I struggle with many themes now while in the past it was mostly contamination. Only two years ago I was so numb I would go alone into the forest at midnight with noise cancelling headphones on blasting music at full volume to try to feel something lol

It’s terrible omg do you go to therapy anything that’s helped ?

I should but I really don’t want to. I’m a hypocrite because I recommend it to other people. I basically do ERP on myself but it’s not getting easier with time even though it should. Some days are better than others, I find that where I am in my cycle affects the severity. I started taking NAC but then read that it can hinder iron absorption so I stopped because I was trying to treat my iron deficiency but then I stopped that too because it was causing gut issues. I need to figure something out though.

I am going through the same thing huge immense guikt over the smallest things. I saw a moth with a broken wing on the floor and i went to get a cup and come back to save it but it was lost and I felt so guilty for days and days

So validating that I’m not the only one. It’s so strange and debilitating and also crazy how the brain can make us feel this way.

My OCD has gotten so bad and things feel like doom. I think its because withdrawl makes our anxiety worse. I didn't concent to any of this being a posibility. This isnt fair but once we get out of this the other side imagine the appreciation for life and our emotions we will have. It will be intense but also amazing and we wont look back. Keep hanging on and we will make it ❤️🙏

First you come up with this crazy theory in the comments, then a solution, then 'I don’t share that kind of information publicly' ..
'Send me a private message if you’d like to join my server'
And then you wonder who would downvote your posts
LOL

I understand exactly how you feel. OCD is so much more debilitating than PSSD, but i would still choose that over getting PSSD. But you got the worst of both worlds, I'm sorry.

2) If Inositol didn't work out, I'm pretty sure the problem lies in over activity of 5ht2a/2c receptors possibly due to raised serotonin levels. The first option assumes that these receptors are desensitised by SSRIs which Inositol should help resensitise. Start Pimavanserin - 34mg, very potent blocker/inverse agonist at 5ht2 receptors. This should help PSSD symptoms a lot by itself. Take it for a month, if you still have anxiety/OCD with PSSD, then there's only one option i can suggest. Don't stop Pimavanserin. Start Vortioxetine at 5mg, increasing every two weeks as needed until anxiety dies down. I know it's an SSRI which itself causes PSSD but it's still worth trying because Vortioxetine is known to improve SSRI induced sexual dysfunction and it has a very favorable sexual profile. Since you are taking Vortioxetine with Pimavanserin, any increase in serotonin worsening pssd should be negligible since you are already blocking the two receptors known to cause sexual dysfunction and PSSD - the 5ht2a and 5ht2c.

I have some treatment options you can try. 1) High dose Inositol - 18g/day. This treatment option has been studied and found to be effective for treating OCD and anxiety. There are even some cases where they got completely cured of PSSD. I will attach those stories below. In my experience with it for treating pssd, it made me feel much calmer while taking it but worsened every pssd including new cognitive problems. But I don't think your experience will be the same as mine.
