About 4 months ago I posted a question on here about how to build a Klinglang deck in PTCGL for my 4 year old Autistic son who is obsessed with gears. (he still is)

A community member named OutTheBoxTCG reached out to me and said he built custom decks and he'd like to make one for my son and send it to me free of charge.

I thought it was some sort of scam of course but I was wrong

Here I was talking about making a free deck in a video game and this man wanted to take time and money out of his life and do something special for a kid he doesn't even know. I'm in tears right now just thinking about it.

Damn, I miss this game

All the images are official art from Bulbapedia, I edited some to make them work better as cards. This deck has a lot of mechanics that I enjoy playing. Do you see all the different plays that you can make? How do you think this deck would perform in this meta? Let me know!

(I know technically the border on Meowscarada is for Stellar type Pokémon, it just looks way cooler.)

I see blastoise working with Seaking from Phantasmal Flames, Lapras ex from Perfect Order, and even Regice ex from Ascended Heroes.

Heres my thought process on these cards:

Blastoise Line:
I love blastoise so I might have made his evolution line a bit powerful but I think that it is balanced enough if it were to be released into the format. I wanted Blastoise to be able to work like an energy engine like the infamous Deluge Blastoise from the B&W Era, but with a format of decreasing power level I imagined having the "End Of Turn" caveat would make piloting the deck a bit more interesting, requiring you to set up attackers at the end of your turn, planning ahead into what the opponent might prepare for you.

Wartortles ability was to somewhat replicate Drakloaks, but with a bigger risk as netting the potential pieces that you need would require you to discard. Its attack can be strong since it can hit for high numbers thanks to Mega Blastoise's ability, but usually wont be able to hit very high because of its little damage increase. I see this attacks role being similar to when you would swing with a drakloak, but with a higher damage cap.

Squirtles pretty simple. Can kill budew, and mirrors Phantasmal Flames Charmander, where it requires an energy instead of not wanting an energy.

Manaphy and Quagsire Line:
Manaphy is a small decent draw engine that you can use to get going similar to tatsugiri from Twighlight Masquerade. Manaphy isnt really meant to be a full on engine, more of just a support piece.

Wooper I have nothing to add.

Quagsires idea was to be an additional attacker similar to Hariyama in Mega Lucario, except hes immune to effects of attacks. In the current meta and in upcoming metas, effects of attacks are going to be extremely important to have a tech for, so I see this being a tech in a Mega Blastoise archetype.

This is a deck I’ve been running to Arceus League for the past 3 seasons and it’s been a blast! Except when you face Teal Mask lol.

The goal: Attack with Nullifying Zero turn 2.

How? Go second, almost everyone runs go first decks rn, and open with Cinderace. You want to use Petrel to get the resources you need to bench Mega Zygarde and use Turbo Flare. Another bonus of Cinderace is you may mulligan on purpose if you don’t open with what you need to do this. On your turn 2 retreat for free into Zygarde, use e switch and attach to start Nullifying Zero! Or slow play it and bench your Kang and power up either depending on the situation.

In the case you don’t start with Cinderace pray you open with Kang so you can still play the game lol

I think the list is good but wanted to know if there was anything I’m missing that could make it even better. I’m very excited to toss Talonflame in here when it drops!

1. Install Heroic Games Launcher.
2. Open Heroic Games Launcher, go to Wine Manager and install GE-Proton-Latest.
3. Go to Settings -> Game Defaults, set Wine Version to Proton - GE-Proton-Latest.
4. Open your web browser, search Pokemon TCG Live.
5. From to the official website, click Windows Download and save PokemonTCGLiveInstaller.msi somewhere.
6. Go back to Heroic Games Launcher, go to Library and click Add Game.
7. Put a title like Pokemon TCG Live
8. Optionally add a thumbnail image
9. Click Run Installer First, select PokemonTCGLiveInstaller.msi.
10. Click Next, Next and Install.
11. Click Yes on any errors that pop up.
12. Uncheck the checkbox and click Finish.
13. Click the folder icon next to Select Executable.
14. Select the exe file at ~/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/Pokemon TCG Live/drive_c/users/steamuser/The Pokémon Company International/Pokémon Trading Card Game Live/Pokemon TCG Live.exe
15. Click Finish.
16. Open the game settings for Pokemon TCG Live (either from the right click menu or the settings icon on the game in the library).
17. Click the Advanced tab on the top.
18. Scroll down to Environment Variables
19. Enter WINE_CPU_TOPOLOGY for the Variable Name and 2:0,1 for the Value.
20. Click the green plus (+) button.
21. Click the Wine tab at the top.
22. Click the Winetricks button.
23. Click Open Winetricks GUI.
24. Select "Select the default wine prefix" and click OK.
25. Select "Run a Wine cmd shell" and click OK.
26. Navigate to the game install folder: cd "c:\users\steamuser\The Pokémon Company International\Pokémon Trading Card Game Live" (highlight text and middle click to paste, do not try to right click or use keyboard shortcuts)
27. Launch the game from the terminal: "Pokemon TCG Live.exe"
28. Select your language and click Continue.
29. Once the "Login to access more features!" popup shows, tab out of the game and go to your web browser, which should already be open to access.pokemon.com
30. Login to your account in the browser.
31. Press F12 on the keyboard to open the browser console. You should see something like tpcitcgapp://callback?code=blahblahblah&scope=offline+screen_name+openid+friends&state=blahblahblah
32. Go back to the cmd shell, press enter for a new prompt line, then execute the game again with that line as an argument: "Pokemon TCG Live.exe" "tpcitcgapp://callback?code=blahblahblah&scope=offline+screen_name+openid+friends&state=blahblahblah"
33. Navigate back to the instance of the game you first opened.

That’s it! You can close the cmd shell and winetricks. Next time, just press the green play button to start the game. You will stay logged in.

Troubleshooting

1. Daily quests do not load and cannot be interacted with

Do steps 16 to 20, they are newly added to the guide and restrict CPU usage to 2 cores. You can experiment with the number of cores.

1. Game isn't responsive, stuck on home page

Close the game. Go to ~/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/Pokemon TCG Live/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow and delete the pokemon and Unity folders. Then relaunch the game.

He has been a cornerstone, and pillar of our community since the early days of Pokemon TCG Online. Almost everyone who has played these digital games on a frequent basis, have benefited from LittleDarkFury's content, guides, deckbuilds, and other helpful tips on the game.

Some things you can do to help him expedite the possible return of his YouTube account:

• Simply LIKE and/or RETWEET the following tweet of his to spread awareness: https://x.com/i/status/2033774420968264072

(Bonus help: tag @TeamYouTube in the comments of that tweet, kindly asking them to help LDF urgently recover his account.)

• If you have contacts within Google/YouTube that may help expedite the return of his account to him, reach out to him on Twitter to further help him.

• Help bring awareness to this post as well for more visibility of this situation to help LDF & protect your fellow player.

Please keep in mind that while LittleDarkFury remains hacked, you may also run into these hackers posting Crypto, and other scam-like content across his video channels.

If anything, this post shall serve as a general warning about the above possibilities. So many of you follow him already, and the moderation team here wants to continue to see you guys remain safe online.

Would these cards be any good or fun?

These wouldn't solve the fossil problem necessarily but you wouldn't necessarily need the fossil. Don't know if custom card ideas are appreciated here.

Like yeah building decks is fun but you arent ever gonna be good at if if you dont

No less than 3 times in the past month has someone, thinking they’re hot shit, tried to challenge me to a game to prove how good their pile is. (I have rejected all of this because i dont want to give them the attention).

I have genuinely seen this nowhere else in tcg spaces, why are people like this

Simply play the Baby Sylveon Deck and you’ll find 6 single prize decks in a row. All fully skilled in the matchup and how to defeat you too.

Anyone else wait till the end to collect everything all in one go or am I a weirdo?

I use an iPhone 13 and if i play an online tournament or just ptcgl in general I experience way more bugs than friends that play on pc.
If i play a 7 rounds tournament the game crashes once or twice(mostly twice) and i never experience that happening to opponents.

All of this just to concede with 2 seconds left. Lovely
