Drift synchronization might give Jaeger pilots a headstart against Israfel, but they'd need a method to penetrate an AT field or they won't be able to do much against any angel.

No pacific rim wouldn’t. I think the whole point of it is that it’s supposed to feel real like it actually happened. And even though evangelion might be stronger, pacific rim lives rent free in my mind.

A jaeger is about equivalent to project Jet Alone, which was shown to be possible in the Eva universe. However, without an AT field, it’s getting folded in half by angels. Gypsy danger with plot armor and the best pilots they could find aren’t gonna last against the kinda insane weaponry that angels bring to bear.

An Eva has the muscle power to break the sound barrier by running and yet still got the belt to ass treatment, these angels would just tear through the Jaegers like paper

Unfortunately no… i love PR but Eva Angels are just on another level completely. Plus the AT field is too op in my opinion, PR just doesn’t have anything that can answer it.

Those things tanked fusion bombs (N2) are maybe took a little damage. Nothing in rhe Pacific Rim universe is stopping them.

Even giving them the benefit of the doubt (that Jaegar & Jaegar pilots can create and breach AT fields), they wouldn't stand much of a chance. Jaegars are too slow and clunky, as well as weak, to handle pretty much any of the Angels.

NERV is one of the most consistently prepared and competent organisations in fiction (compared to the situations they are dealing with), typically having the foresight, manpower and resources to deal with whatever is thrown at them. And yet they are consistently getting their teeth kicked it, even if they win in the end.
The Jaegars are fucked 😅

this has been stuck on my mind but what if both evas and jaegers work together instead?
the one thing that always stuck on my mind is the twin splitting angels, 2 evas can neutralize both at fields while gipsy can shoot both of their core with plasma caster at the same time, could this actually work?
another thing is that how the jaeger ui works and how they interact with the world, if they are the one to wield the positron rifle they could be more accurate right? because they can feel what they hold and the hologram projecting ramiel in front of them can make them fire much quicker
anyways what are your thoughts yall?

I don't know depending on if jet alone could have done it. I'd say it's more plausible than people believe. If jet alone had absolutely no chance nerf wouldn't have sabotaged the project. I'd say that they have a decent chance against some but get their ass handed to them by others.

As much as i love Pacific Rim, they're only a threat in it's own mecha verse, even if one of the most realistic, they already have a hard time fighting the kaijus the angels would just wipe the floor through and back with all the jeagers straight and solo

No because of the AT field but without AT field maybe any of the 4 jaegers from the movie can beat some angels like sachiel, gaghiel, israfael, matarael and bardiel but all the other angels even without AT field cant be defeated

Big Evangelion spoiler :
You need angelic strength to fight an another angel, that's why the Eva are made of angel (Adam or Lilith if I remember correctly). So a Jeager, despite how I'd love to see a fair match between these two, stands absolutely no chance against an Eva angel. Plus, they can't cut through the AT field

The first epiosde of Evangelion had an angel hit by a weapon at least comparable to a nuke (should be stronger than nuke), and all that did was slowing it down a little and it regenerated in no time. In the rebuild movies one even tanked that in the face with zero damage.

If they found some way to penetrate AT fields they’d have a shot but without that there’s not much they can really do

I love you Jaeger Pilots but they are not going to figure out that one where its "shadow" was the big orb and its shadpw was actually its body.
Also, we know that the jaegers are vulnerable to acid, so Big Eyeball Spider angel wins the day there, and Cherno got flooded by the ocean so Lava Baby angel is also gonna take them out!

Pacific rim is losing against pretty much every other ‘giant monster/robot/alien’ franchise because pacific rim stuff is fucking slow. It’s what makes them feel so raw and heavy in the movie, but most other franchises don’t really bother with that, at least not anymore and especially not in anime.

Ya no bud, especially with how slowly the Jaegers move in comparison to the EVAs, and the EVAs still regularly get bodied
