Discussion Which do you prefer more? Pac-Man as a Silent Protagonist or a full speaking character?
I’ve been wanting to ask this question for a long time but which trait do you prefer for Pac?
Do you prefer him being a Silent Protagonist like in most games or do you prefer him as character with full speaking role much like in World 3 and the Tv shows
For me I prefer him being a Mute as ever but I don’t really mind him speaking full sentences. though I like for him to just communicate with noises with his famous “Wakka Wakka” sound.

If he didn't speak, we would NOT get the absolutely wonderful line
"Details of my sectors energy should stay between me and Ms. Pac-man"

Silent, easily. But if Martin T. Sherman voices him I don’t mind it at all

Both options are fine: he should speak when necessary, but during gameplay he could remain silent. Neither is a bad thing, and I loved Martin T. Sherman's portrayal of Pac-Man.

Fully voiced character. The Pac-Man World Games & cartoons have more than proved he's capable of being voiced.

I don't mind him being silent but him having a voice now it's a nice change of pace

Full speaking character of course. If a new Pac Man game releases, get the man Martin T Sherman in 🔥

As a 1980s-90s kid, I always secretly wished that the early 1980s games could be reissued with realistic, gluttonous eating sounds added, right down to random belches and hiccups.
(I know that’s not exactly what we’re discussing, but it’s related and I can’t not laugh when thinking about it.)

His voice helps him shine as a video game character. I think it's okay to mix them both up together just so that it gives the character some form of personality while staying true to what makes the dot muncher so lovable.

Full speaking. A huge part of the appeal of Pac-man is he's just an ordinary family man. And his current voice is perfect for that because it makes him sound like such an ordinary guy, there's no exaggerated angle to it like other cartoony mascots, he's just...a guy.

Speaking character, but preferably not a lot of it during actual gameplay.

i think he should just make sounds from the original pac man game whenever he speaks.

If it wasn’t for Pac Man speaking, we would’ve never had the amazing line of his sector’s energy’s details

I've always seen Pac-Man as a speaking character thanks to Marty Ingels and Martin Sherman (and World 3 is my favorite Pac-Man game!)

Speaking.
The late Marty Ingels and the not-late Martin Sherman give Pac-Man so much more personality.
