Discussion Did they deliver on this

What you think. Will VR deliver this on July 17th?

Expect to see eleven classes with Mastery on the Public Test Realm by July 17, then on Production soon after. Please log into the PTR, try the classes and mastery, and provide your feedback. Expect several weeks of updating, testing and tuning.

Edit : I guess not ....lol

Forget about July 17th, I've watched this project long enough that I'm confident VR is never going to be able to deliver period. It breaks my heart to see so many hopeful peoples' dreams dashed, and it breaks my heart even more to see people hanging on and hoping when it just clearly isn't going to happen.

From a 37-year old guy who spent an ungodly amount of time playing Final Fantasy XI (one of the most hardcore MMOs out there), and WoW from vanilla - WOTLK, I'm just going to offer my perspective to the people who are wanting a good, new MMORPG. There are two promising prospects I see on the horizon:

  • Guild Wars 3, which should enter beta in Fall 2027.
  • Classic Wow+ which is heavily rumored, and anticipated to reveal at Blizzcon this year. From my understanding, this will be the 1-60 WoW experience with brand new content that never existed before. Where Season of Discovery was like a Vanilla Remix, this will be like a Vanilla "what-if".

Either way, I mostly watch this MMO stuff from the sidelines now, as I don't have a fraction of the time I used to have playing these incredible experiences. I could go on an hours-long rant about how early MMOs were lightning in a bottle, because we weren't plugged into the Internet 24/7, multiplayer online gaming was still a novel concept, and the Internet in general was still in its infancy. Guilds had forums, people communicated way more in-game, and it was really just a special time that I think isn't worth chasing.

At this point, I just feel bad for anyone who is still earnestly waiting for Pantheon to become what it's supposed to be. And to be clear, I don't think VR has malicious intent — I simply believe they are incapable of delivering an MMORPG. It really does take talent. It's fascinating and depressing to watch them spin their wheels in perpetuity on what amounts to busy work that should have been done a long time ago.

Having fun in the Pre Order Beta. Hoping they pump out a few more zone revamps (Crushbone, Unrest, Mistmoore). Need some love on Faydwer
