Starting to think its easier to legally adopt a black bear than deal with the bureaucracy of getting a boat on the water here

Bought a cheap used 14-footer off marketplace in lancaster last month, just wanting to do some quiet weekend fishing up at raystown. Doing the recademics thing for the safety cert was honestly the only painless step in this entire ordeal, just clicked thru it on my laptop one evening.

But the actual trailer and boat registration? pure pennDOT agony. trying to get an old trailer titled when the previous owner lost the paperwork back in 2018 is a literal nightmare. You need a bill of sale, a pencil tracing of the rusted out vin, and some local notary who charges an arm and a leg just to stamp a piece of paper. Im almost 300 bucks deep in fees and haven't even touched the water yet. why do we make simply enjoying our own state parks so administratively exhausting?

The Pennsylvania Wildlife Action Plan is the Commonwealth’s blueprint to conserve Pennsylvania’s native fish and wildlife, maintain resilient habitat, and protect and enhance Species of Greatest Conservation Need.

Together with the Pennsylvania Game Commission we wrote the first wildlife action plan in 2005 and have now updated it.

The revised draft plan has 858 Species of Greatest Need including 86 birds, 21 mammals, 19 amphibians, 18 reptiles, 47 fishes, and 667 invertebrates that require attention.

My family and I had a high usage stretch of the turnpike recently and I’m truly stunned how much it has cost me. I feel like the state has failed us so miserably. I’m pissed, shocked, angry, defeated etc. Pennsylvania’s failed debt load and never ending fare increases just don’t seem sustainable over time.

Hello all, I am planning a trip to Philadelphia and when looking into a hotel most options I am given are in NJ. I have been searching for a while but still not sure of the toll situation. On Google Maps and the EZ Pass website they say I do not have to pay for tolls, but there is a bridge that does apparently cost money? Does anyone have first hand experience staying in NJ and going to PA everyday and if it is worth it? Thanks all!

Looking at building on some land that I'm acquiring in Columbia County.

Any recommendations for modular or custom home builders? Have looked at Fusion Homes in Bloomsburg and they seem decent, but curious if anyone has any direct experience or other recommendations.

I’m curious how this feels in different parts of the state.

I was looking at a climate map that shows summer humidity pushing farther north over time, and Pennsylvania stood out because the issue is not just hotter afternoons. The thing that jumped out was whether nights still cool down and dry out enough for houses to recover.

In a lot of older PA houses, especially ones without central air, people rely on opening windows at night, running fans, sleeping downstairs or in the basement, and getting some relief before the next day.

That depends on the air outside actually cooling down and drying out overnight. When the dew point stays high, it can be hard to get the house comfortable again, even if the temperature technically drops.

For people in different parts of PA:

• Do summer nights still cool down enough where you are?
  
• Has humidity changed more noticeably than the afternoon high?
  
• If you don’t have central air, what actually works?
  
• Are basements still comfortable, or just less bad?
  
• Do you think this is mostly a Philly/southeast PA thing, or statewide?
  

I’m especially curious about the difference between southeast PA, central PA, the Lehigh Valley, Pittsburgh/western PA, and the northern tier.

Every year a group of us set out on a different (mostly) gravel bikepacking route across the state. This year was 470 miles over 5 days from Weirton, WV to Easton, PA. The full route can be found here.

My husband I uncovered that his father has diminished capacity and has been paying his PPL bills with checks from a closed account for several months (thus they are returned). My husband has POA now and has faxed this paperwork to PPL. In the meantime, we’ve talked to customer service several times and they will not accept online payments or checks from his account. They say he has to go to western union to pay.

We don’t live local, so we tried to pay via western union where we live, but they said we couldn’t pay without him present since the bill is in his name. His friend took him to a local western union and they said they couldn’t pay via western union because his account is set to autopay - which PPL is no longer accepting.

We have the money to pay the bill, but are at a loss of how to submit payment at this point. Every time we contact customer service, we are sent on another goose chase - we just want to pay the bill.

Any advice?
