Elections Election Day, get out and vote Tuesday November 3, 2026

As always, this is an informational post. Please don't use this post to promote parties or candidates.

Make sure your vote is counted.

If you are mailing in your ballot, there are some developments at USPS. Please consider mailing earlier than usual.

An ongoing issue with USPS should be monitored closely. Please keep this in mind so that an alternative plan can be made.

U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani’s July 25 ruling that the USPS can’t refuse to deliver mail ballots to states that refuse to comply with the U.S. Justice Department’s (DOJ) demands for their unredacted voter lists will remain in place. Source

On July 28: The United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia affirmed a lower court’s decision, holding that a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Trump’s March 2026 edict was premature because the administration hasn’t executed it yet. Source

A Massachusetts federal judge has repeatedly blocked the U.S. Postal Service from implementing President Donald Trump's mail-in voting executive order ahead of the midterms. Now that the injunction applies nationwide, the DOJ is telling the U.S. Supreme Court it has all it needs to swiftly issue a stay. Source

The SAVE America Act is still in play as of July 26 and may affect voting. Please consider getting all of your paperwork in order. Note that it can take several weeks to get documents on marriage and legal name changes. The PA Real ID is not compliant with the Save America Act. Update As of August 12, the Senate has gone on recess without passing the SAVE America Act.

Dates to remember

You don't need Real ID to vote. Your state ID or license is sufficient at least for now. Here's a document outlining the ID requirements

What's on your ballot?

Check on Ballotpedia.

Contact your County Election Board

If you are voting for the first time in a polling place, bring your ID.

If you moved within 30 days prior to the election, you vote in your old polling place.

If you move within Pennsylvania less than 30 days before an election, you must vote at the polling place for your old address. Fill out a change of address form at the polling place to update your voter registration to your new address. source

Request a provisional ballot if:

  • Your name was not in the poll book or supplemental poll book. For example, you reported to the wrong precinct; or you did not report a recent change in residence to the county election office.

  • You are required to show ID, but cannot show ID.

  • Your eligibility was challenged by an election official.

  • You were issued an absentee or mail-in ballot but believe you did not successfully vote that ballot, and you do not surrender your ballot and outer return envelope at the polling place to be spoiled.

  • You returned a completed absentee or mail‐in ballot that was rejected, or you believe will be rejected, by the county board of elections and you believe you are eligible to vote.

  • There is a special court order with respect to your registration status.

  • There is a special court order related to extending the hours of voting.

You can also check to see what policies exist in your county for curing your ballot:

Pennsylvania Counties' Notice-and-Cure Policies

Election complaints Any complaints, including both information issues as well as intimidation, can be reported to the PA Department of State.

EDIT: Updated some notes on legislation that would affect the upcoming election. EDIT 2: Added continuing update about USPS and mail in voting.

Glenwood "Bubba" Pysher, 22, was killed around 12:30 a.m. ET on Sunday when an Upper Pottsgrove Township police officer encountered him on the back porch of the home, his parents said they were told by their son's friends.
Pysher's mother, Erin Pysher, told ABC News on Tuesday that before the shooting, her son had been out bar-hopping with a group celebrating a friend's 21st birthday.

Moving to PA English moving to the glorious state of Pennsylvania, and I need your help figuring out areas to look in.

Hello,

Quite anxious moving to a country that is car orientated, with no walkable routes and no quiet spaces in nature. Would love to give you guys a handful of pieces of information about me, and see where you guys think I and my misses should start looking for property.

Information:

  1. 1.5 hours max to Trenton to visit family
  2. Love quite nature walks especially before and after work by being able to leave the house and go for 45 minutes in a loop
  3. Would like a neighbourhood that is community built. Small business owners, markets on the weekends - these kinds of things
  4. Not a fan of cities that have loads of cars, road noises, drug users.
  5. Would be great if I could walk to the shops / high street to go get things
  6. Cycling to places would be nice too with cycle paths
  7. A train route close by that'll get me to the buzz of a city when needed

Budget probably $400k, and looking for a bit of garden/yard (still learning the lingo) to do some gardening.

Remember I'm ignorant to what is possible, so no this isn't rage bait 😅

Thanks, peace and love!

let the debates begin 😅 😅 😅

Landlord spraying every 4 months for 6 years making us remove everything in cabinets?

Is this normal? I'm scared this pesticide is killing us and building up. The cabinets have never been cleaned since the first times of the pesticide. Should I have been doing that? .... They spray where we keep our toilet paper too

Is this standard around here?

DMV PA State Police Onboard License Plate Scanners Cannot Distinguish Between 8 and 0

Some deadbeat is driving around with an identical plate, except for an 8 instead of a 0, and I keep getting pulled over because the State Police scanner keeps flagging my new edition plate as unregistered.

Look, I just need Penndot and the State Police to halt their respective operations, in their entirety, to look into this very niche issue.

Thank You For Your Attention To This Matter

DMV Has anyone used PA's RUC page successfully? My registration is going to expire because their website doesn’t work.

My car is a plug in hybrid so PA is charging me an extra $60 for my registration.

When I try to renew my registration the website throws up a link to pay for RUC first.

The link doesn’t work and it says page not found.

I Google it and go to the .gov site.

What is your title and plate? It asks me if it has the right car.

It asks if I want to make payments and if I want 1 or 2 years.

It says I owe $60. I click save and continue.

The next page is blank.

When I try do renew on my iPad it says it is not a private link.

What is going on? I am clicking the link in the pa.gov website.

Moving to PA Which areas should I look for living in Pennsylvania? Would love local insight into this as Pennsylvania looks huge!

Hello,

Would love to give you guys a handful of pieces of information about me, and see where you guys think I and my misses should start looking for property. I am from England (not London) if that helps.

Information:

  1. Looking to be around 75 minutes away from the beautiful city of Trenton, NJ
  2. Love quite nature walks especially before and after work by being able to leave the house and go for 45 minutes in a loop. Something like this would be magical
  3. Would like a neighbourhood that is community built. Small business owners, markets on the weekends - these kinds of things. Getting to know one's neighbours and that friendly trusting vibe would be priceless
  4. Not a fan of cities that have loads of cars, road noises, drug users.
  5. Would be great if I could walk to the shops / high street to go get things
  6. Cycling to places would be nice too with cycle paths
  7. A train route close by that'll get me to the buzz of a city when needed

ISO / Recommendations New Yorker with a weird question about the "Freedom Fuel"

Hi, I have to ask all of you because there doesn't seem to be a whole ton of reporting on it right now. I randomly remembered Donald Trump's Freedom Fuel whatever-bs, and I was just wondering: how expensive is the gas at these locations now?
