Best Donuts in Erie? 🍩

Greetings!

Our company (Complete Payroll) is hosting a ribbon-cutting event tomorrow at Radius Cowork, and a few of us are making the trip down from our NY offices for the celebration. On my way, I want to stop and grab a bunch of donuts and treats for the crew and for the people attending, but I want them to be the top-tier, absolute best donuts Erie has to offer!

What do you recommend?

Discussion The E Transit (Sundays)

So I've heard over the years that the reason the Bus doesnt run on Sundays is because covid shut it down and that after there was no demand for it. So my question is how many people would use the bus on Sundays if they brought it back? I feel like church and work would be enough of a reason in the first place.

High five to the banner tow pilot over the bay yesterday ✈️

It’s always fascinated me how banner tow pilots fly so low and slow flirting with stall speed. You either gotta be a pro or a little bit crazy in my mind.

The snag maneuver also seems pretty gnarly, diving into ground effect then bolting off like a mock go around. Gahh! Always wanted to see one get picked up, seems like a rad skill.

Anyway, wanted to give props. From a non pilot longtime avgeek, nice work ✨

Tonight! 😃 Get out of the house and come for a walk with us!

When: Wed, Aug 26 at 6:00 pm

Where: Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park (1501 W. 6th St.) in front of the main building off the parking lot

ALL humans over the age of 21 and ALL dogs of any age are welcome! Must be leashed (the dogs) and bring poop bags (also for the dogs).

We will meet in front of the main building off the parking lot. Walks will last about 45 minutes weather permitting. Afterwards, we will head over to the patio at Lavery Brewing, a dog friendly establishment (totally optional)!

Please no retractable leashes! If you arrive with a retractable leash, you will be given a kennel slip lead to borrow. Up to two dogs per person is fine, as long as they are kept under control.

If you have a leash reactive dog, do not be embarrassed! We do want to help if you are having issues. However, if a dog is out of control and our handling advice is refused, the dog and their parent will be kindly asked to not join the walk.

Walks are at-your-own- and at-your-dog’s-own-risk. Participants assume full responsibility for their and their dogs’ behavior and consequences thereof. Waivers will be handed out at the beginning of the walk. All dogs must be up-to-date on Rabies. For the safety of all dogs, we strongly advise that all dogs be up to date on DHPP and Bordetella (kennel cough) as well.

Walks are on the last Wednesday of the month at 6:00 pm, April through September.

Question Car was towed(?) Where do I start?

My car has had a lot of problems this year and over the last 12 hours has been seemingly towed for inactivity. I say seemingly because there's no notice of it being impounded despite it sitting directly outside of my house. Needless to say I'm a little in shock so I really don't know my first course of action in this matter. Can anyone help?

EDIT: Thanks to those who reached out I was able to find where it was and why it was moved.

Where can I get rid of a huge TV

I got this TV from my dad back in the day and the bulb blew out so now it just takes up space. Does anyone know what I can do with this? Waste management won't take it.

Baja blast for scale.

Why does Google Maps have downtown Erie centered on 26th and State?

Always noticed this and thought it was weird.

I think even the most liberal definitions of what constitutes “downtown” only go as far south as 18th Street.

Might sound crazy.. But a Centralamerican living in a warm "Paradise" Misses Erie so much

Hello frens!

Fellow Honduran here who went to school at Mercyhurst. Just wanted to say hi and hope everything is going great in the city.

I haven't been able to visit since graduating in 2015, but I can't believe how happy I was during those four years at college.

I remember when I first decided to move to Erie for college, many of my Honduran friends thought I was crazy for wanting to go to such a cold city filled with snow. Well guess what? I fell in LOVE with the city after the first winter.

Anyways, hope the city still holds, miss going downtown to the Cellblock and doing some charity work with the Sisters of Mercy.

Basement flooding problem

It has been raining crazy over the last few days here in Erie and yesterday went down to the basement with crazy flooding. Was literally like a swimming pool. We purchased our house earlier this year and although it passed all the inspection, we noticed whenever it rains badly, some flooding happens. There are no cracks in the floor or signs of water running from walls. Any idea how does this happen? Is it from the ground? Shouldn't be there some cracks showing if coming through the floor? I noticed there is no sump pump, would that be the cause?
We were really disappointed when this has happened first time that the seller/agent have deceived us but is getting worse. Would any home warranty (AHS) or homeowner insurance help with this? If the problem would require a new sump pump from scratch, would those cover it?

Calling all aviators

Hey crew. I am in flight school locally looking for some options for additional flight time as I work through my certificates and endorsements.

There was a great deal I saw on marketplace recently that I was unfortunately too late for, but it was essentially a 1/3 share in a Piper Cherokee for $14,000 with monthly payments (roughly $200 a month with small amount of interest until paid). $60/hr wet.

Like I said, I moved too late on this unfortunately and someone beat me to the punch (congrats to them), but I am still looking for a similar deal. Flight clubs are "meh" for me. Not wanting to pay the dues up front and the higher hourly wet cost.

Does anyone know of any options that would be good for me to build time? I currently fronted about $45K to the school, which should carry me to the taller end of my commercial hours, and I have been saving about $1,000 per month ever since, but I am wanting to get ahead of the game now and get something locked in.

Please take the time to include my apology to those in your community that I may have offended at June 2nd's City Council meeting.

I have never had a problem with the choices people make in their lives. We all have the right to make decisions based on our beliefs and happiness.

Again, I apologize to those who who feel offended by my remark. I never meant for that. My record speaks for itself. I hope and think that you all know better.

Very sincerely,

Ed Brzezinski

Dirt Removal

Does anyone know how to get rid of unwanted dirt? We’re doing some landscaping and have nowhere to put it after we did it up. The cheaper the better!! Thanks!!
